Donny played some nice stuff last night-some of the movement in the middle with the flicks, runs and 1-2's were pleasing on the eye. But these occasions only happened on the rare occasion they got the ball towards or past the half way line.

I thought our football was more exciting to watch while we passed it well (when we had to ball). Our best spell seemed to be at the beginning of the second half and Donny almost looked like they couldn't cope, perhaps if we had a little more in the final third we could have nicked one or two.

Last nights game would have been a 0-0 draw if it weren't for said strike that either goes in or miles wide. And I read earlier some Donny fan claiming they bossed us and played us off the park...

Oh, Hoofball has an end product; that's for sure. It's known colloquially as Division Three.

I despair.

If hoofing the ball to the other end of the pitch creates chances and goals i would happily take that. We havent got the players to make us play half as good as Donny. From all of Donnys passing they only had two shots in the 2nd half from what i can remember, fair enough one resulted in a goal. As long as we give 100% and not lay down and die like last season then i'm a happy man. But i'm easily pleased......

As always, very quick to criticise others for wanting effective football but rarely stepping forward putting your neck on the line with a plan of how to go about it. You seem to justify yourself with this evidence that because were in div 3 it's all down to a direct style. But that same direct style was effective enough to get us promoted to the PL a few seasons back.

Give me effective football in any form. Playing one style will always get found out and whichever style we play when it gets found out, it's dire to watch.
