This is a Thank you to Mr Blackwell. This is a positive thread to say goodbye.

- Thank you for rescuing us from Robson and almost turning a disasterous season into the Play Offs

- Thank you for last season, started slowly, but we picked up and you got us to 3rd place and a play off final.

- Thanks for bringing in Jamie Ward, debuting Kyle and Kyle.

- Thanks for revitalising Monty, Morgs and Killa after Robbo (and Billy for a short time)

- Thanks for battling on at the club despite the reprofiling and the firesales.

The time has come for you to leave. If you walk, I will applaud you and understand that you are a Blade deepdown.

Thanks Kevin, you've done what you can, but its just not enough. We need to go our separate ways and move on.

Good luck in your future projects!

Up the Blades!

Thankyou for the dullest, most insipid football seen for a generation

Thanks to you for the shite football you served up, it has helped strip me of any enthusiasm for my trips to Bramall Lane for the first time in a lifetime

You can whinge on elsewhere Brownie, theres 100's of threads like that on here, can we not have just the one that recognises some positives

And I think that the two comments thus far leave this a

THREAD FAIL!!!!

No, i'm happy enough where i am.

At the moment the negatives outweigh the positives.

Praising Kevin Blackwell at the moment is a bit like saying Ian Huntley is a child killer but he is an excellent gardener, or Saddam Hussain was a despot dictator who killed thousands but he could do a SuDoku puzzle in under a minute.

Thanks for that amazing run when he came in. Why he couldnt keep that up is the reason for his failure and the million dollar question.

Or that Jack the ripper was a good lorry driver....

Thanks for ripping the heart out of Sheffield United

You can accuse Blackwell of many things but it wasn't he who;

sold Beattie at a crucial time
sold both Kyles
decided to re-profile i.e. sell most of the squad
seemingly considered a World Cup ground bid as more important than matters on his own doorstep

he seems to have lost the plot coaching / tactics / management wise but it's easy to argue that he's had more than enough help from above in terms of ripping the heart out.

Or that Jack the ripper was a good lorry driver....

I think you mean the Yorkshire Ripper!

Lorries were in very short supply in Victorian London.

Thanks for taking us to within 90 minutes of Promotion twice last season.

Do we really blame Blackwell for the drivel this season, or can more of the blame be placed at McCabe's door?

Blackwell offered his resignation after the POF, McCabe changed his mind. That was the error in my view.

As much as I think McCabe is a good thing for this club, I can't help but think that all the flack Blackwell is getting is because McCabe asked him to stay.

I do, 100%.

Players may come and go, whether we like it or not, but a general football philosophy transcends things like that.

Going away to be negative is verging on the criminal for me.
The Hoof as Plan A and a complete disregard for how dangerous wide men can create chances and win you games is not something I would forgive easily.

Even last night, 35 games in and against the BOTTOM team, we have our best central midfield player WIDE RIGHT and Yeates sat on his arse. I nearly called Crimestoppers!

It's partly McCabe's fault by proxy, but mainly Blackwells.

We have the personnel to play a fluid passing game, but not the manager.

Blackwell has had little help from above but his poor signings, tactical ineptitude and poor man management will all have contributed to his downfall when it comes shortly. However as always the buck stops with the chairman and Soton is right that it was McCabe who insisted he stayed and even more foolishly extended his contract. The initial appointment of Blackwell following on from that of Robson was the work of someone with very litttle feeling for what was required to take our club forward. It's no use pointing the finger at Blackwell, Robinson or anyone else for that matter the only person to blame for our current predicament is Mr McCabe and his continued silence only serves to further distance himself from the supporters. His financial input and cosequent stability this brought to the club cannot be forgotten but one has to wonder if he truly has the club at heart when he charges the club 10% interest on the loans and sells all our best players. Unfortunately replacing McCabe will be much harder than replacing the manager, but first things first Blackwell has to go now.

How can you give blackwell credit for the kyles? even stevie wonder would have seen these lads were 2 of the best players in the squad even though they were just out of nappies. The kyles saved blackwell's bacon numerous occasions last season. The academy set up and all the youth coaches are the people that should take credit for the Kyles. Not the bloke that shouted and screamed at them every time they played down the right side in a match.

as for sharp, how can blackwell be thanked for this? sharp thinks blackwell is a **** and probably won't have anything to do with the club whilst blackwell is here.

Stafford.... Just read the post and what I said.
Kyles - the key word was "debut". If I wanted this to be an Academy back slap post then I'd put that. But I didn't I wanted it to highlight some of the positives that Blackie has brought, before he leaves....

Billy - Robson did to Billy what Blackie did later on. But when Blackie came in and everything was a bed of roses, Blackie got him back in and he played well, hence the credit. Thats why I put "for a short time"

but you make it sound as though giving the kyles their debuts was a brilliant decision on behalf of the manager. not just the simple fact these 2 lads were probably the 2 most talented lads in the squad

And wasn't it a brilliant decision by Blackie?

How many other lads have come through, but the manager hasn't had the balls to give them a go?

Thanks for the 10 match un-beaten home record , who do most Blades think we are? .

Most Blades think we are a team who should be able to have at least one meaningful attack in 180 minutes of football against 2 teams in the bottom 4.

Why would McC get rid of Blackie, every Monday he can give Blackie a call and tell him he's done well again as he's saved McC another £55,000 on wages this week with putting up with the crap squad we've got.

The longer this goes on the more I see McC as Mr Burns.
