after 4 games.

Going to be a very long season.

Even Wednesday drew against Huddersfield

We don’t need to worry about automatic promotion this year - sooner we realise we are not a cut above this league the better.

we’ve spend a year and a half being pasted every week and unable to score goals. We need to be worried about the other end of the table, because as things stand that’s not changing

Spot on it's a rebuild job this season, success for me will be staying in the division and finishing the season strongly.

Forget automatic promotion and forget the play offs unless our entire midfield is replaced before the close of the transfer window.

You can forget the top ten too. Like it or lump it, right now we're in another relegation fight and we're not putting up much of a fight at the moment.

Can't score goals, can't defend set pieces, can't keep enough clean sheets.

Promotion is not happening this season. No chance.

New GK
New CDM
2 wingers

If we bring in all of the above and get them right, I still think we will be in the mix for autos.

4 games is not enough time to make a sensible prediction, especially considering the lack of pre season. I agree, it looks a mess at the moment though.

My concerns started when we released very few players and signed no one over the summer, retaining all of the out of form low on confidence let downs. When Wilder first came in he was ruthless, releasing or transfer listing all the players who let us down, including Coutts, Freeman and Scougall who all knuckled down and improved. In Coutt's case becoming a fan favourite

There was always going to be a risk that the players returned to their losing mentality as soon as something went wrong again. No one could lift them out of it last season and they've got it again already. 5-6 players needed to come in to help lift then and change their mental approach to games, but we didn't. We stuck with them and here we are again. The same problems as last season and an inability to create goals going back two seasons, because we averaged only 1 goal per game when we finished 9th. Even then we failed to score in a lot of games.

I'll still give it 10 games and want to see some signings, but I predicted relegation last summer for similar reasons and history appears to be repeating itself only without our greates ever transfer window this time. I try to be optimistic but I can see a logical reason to be so at the moment.

I don't blame the board of manager too much for thinking that this group of players would be very comfortable at this level again, but clearly they underestimated how devastating last season was for their confidence and motivation. The pre season was a complete disaster too, and has severely hampered our performances imo.

So we need a small group of players to come in who aren't tainted by last season, or anything that went before, and who can play without fear of making mistakes or losing. If this isn't new signings, then I think a few of the young lads have an awful lot to offer here. Either should take pressure off the rest of the group, and I believe gradually they will get their mojo back and remember that they are actually decent footballers again.

It could still all turn around we knew it would take a while for Slav to turn the tanker and get us up and running. We’ll know by this time next week though as our transfer business will probably decide our season. It’s worrying though certainly

I’m going to call it now
But with 1 caveat, the board / Prince have to give Slav the tools for the job
We get the 4-5 players in that our manager / coach want and need
Top 6
And promotion within 2 seasons

I don't know if I prefer the threads on how far behind we are at the start of the season, or those towards the end of the season saying that we only need 14 wins from 6 games?! Tricky one.

Exactly this
However it does fly in the face of Wilders statements about signing strong characters

Three top quality midfielders and we'll see how good our forwards are, we'll probably see an improvement in defence as well if we play in the opponents half instead of 30 yards from our own goal

yeah big mistake by wilder not to bring at least 2 more midfielders in before last season kicked off but to be honest i thought norwood and fleck would be good enough for this level but obviously their not both are finished for me and think slav will show both the exit door within the next 12 months
