8 points clear

A couple of quality loan additions (at the back and a striker) and we should be in a good position to push on.

Birmingham are 14th. Win they go to 5th. Its almost like a week 3 table from 3rd to 17th. Crazy.
Yep, even Stoke in 17th are only 5 points-off the play-off spots. We will literally never have a better chance of automatic promotion than this year, every other team seems to be just giving it to us. This season really is mental. UTB

Full time whistle blew, I applauded the team for around 20 seconds then left. Did I do it wrong?!
No right or wrong as such, just some may feel the players deserved more recognition after going 8 points clear of third. Don't think that's an unreasonable viewpoint that deserves mocking but also respect your right to do whatever you like :)

No mockery intended, so apologies if it came across that way.

8 points clear of third is obviously fantastic, but nowt is won in December. A hell of a lot of football to play and twists and turns will happen.

If we're 12 points clear come the end of March I'll stay behind a little longer 😉

Unless we can get this takeover done I just don't get the vibes we'll be signing anyone on loan even though I think most of us would agree we need another backup for McBurnie as Jebbo isn't ready and would be better suited from a loan spell in League One playing every week. But maybe I'll be wrong and we will sign someone on loan even if the takeover isn't completed. We're in a great position though and I think unless injuries bite again we should stay in the top 2, others are not consistent such as Watford. Burnley were also very streaky until present run but then we've had our moments are indifferent results also but that was largely injuries that hit then.
.

I was a bit worried about Coventry, they were on good form and we are as the OP said "cruising" a bit.
Confidence builds with good wins and yesterdays was a good win,
But I'd like a couple of those Reading, Blackburn and Burnley performances to give everyone a further confidence boost

we send khadra back and use his salary to bring another striker in

simple equation

24 games 47 points accrued already
win 15 of last 22. 15 x 3 =45. + 47 = 92 points and an automatic spot

12 home 12 away left

SIMPLES

We have always had the ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Nearly did it again at Wigan and I know 3-1 against Coventry looks comfortable score line but we were hanging on fairly desperately with 10 men at the end.

Not really

Could idea but then there's another loan fee too to factor in. I can see Khadra and his agent, understandably, wanting to move onto another club this January.

Burnley made short work of Brum.

That said I do wonder if two teams dominating might be best.

When they win, it just pushes everyone down.

Apart from Blackburn, we have a two figure lead on all the chasing pack. The sooner 10 can become 15 etc the better.

I look at it in terms of matches. With 22 matches remaining Watford have to outperform us in 4 matches, Blackburn in 3. Maintain of improve that stat and have to do that over a remaining 10 match period and it is highly unlikely.

We have a relatively fit squad now in comparison to other periods of the season. It is time to make the most of that.

First 10 games we managed 23 points.

Next 10 games we managed 12 points.

So far we’re 12 points from 4.

Ideally we get up to 2 points per game or better.

The chasing pack are quite a bit off this.

Blackburn 1.625
Watford 1.54

This would give them 75 points and 71 points respectively over a full season which is way off the trajectory of the top two.

At 2 points for a win, you’d be expecting to pass this mark at 36 and 38 matches.

it is fantastic, im still worried about how its all going to go wrong 😄,

because we are on for 90 pts which is 2 more than what heckingbottom wouldve got over 46 games last season as that was projected 88pts. looking at the stats 90pts was enough to win title last year, 7 years out of 9 it was enough for automatic promotion. & only once in current play off system (1990) has a team got 90pts & finish 3rd that was sunderland team that we lost to in 1998 play offs

the luck does seem to favour us. as blackburn have decide if to sell brereton diaz or lose him for nothing & then we have Watford at home in feb. potentially the chance to go 13pts clear

And you need a magnifying glass and a pair of tweezers to find a positive comment on the forum
I’m more disappointed we’re not in front of a team we made to look crap.
I desperately want to see my team lift that famous old trophy. Yes it’s great to be second and opening a bit of a gap. But it’s about time this famous old club went up in style.

Reasons to be cheerful, parts 1, 2, 3,4,5,6,7
1.We’re 8 points clear of the third team.
2.Every team in the league, bar one, would give their high teeth to be in our position, and have our squad.
3.We’re playing some lovely football at times, which is a joy to watch.
4.N’diaye
5.Our porcine rivals, have a sore neck from looking up at us, as we dominate the city.
6.Even the moaners on here, are reduced to only complaining about the fact that we don’t piss every game 5-0, and haven’t won the league yet.
7.Our injury situation, has improved, significantly, as we go into the second half of the season.

Well done Hecky and the boys, for giving us a fantastic season so far.
Come on haters, you know you want to. Do your worst.

Great points and its right that every team bar Burnley would swap places with us if offered

And us.

Watched some of the game against Cardiff earlier. What a shambles Ewood park is! The pitch was terrible, the ground needs a facelift, even the tannoy & speaker seemed outdated. If you think BDTBL has been quiet recently then this place was silent. To top it off the football was so slow & pedestrian.

Roll on QPR tomorrow ⚔️

If we don't finish above Blackburn then quite frankly we don't deserve to be promoted.
Agreed. I'm not looking at the gap to Blackburn because there is no way that Rovers are claiming an automatic spot. Sunderland only drawing at Blackpool was decent for us. Boro, Norwich, Watford, West Brom and Millwall are the only other teams to watch IMO.
