Even if Bolton won both there games in hand I wouldn't worry, there incredibly inconsistent and awful away from home

Kin el. Fleetwood looking good. Could clinch it Satdi...... For both of us!

How does that point at Rochdale look now? Back to the 2 points on average, surely everyone is smiling inside tonight even if we cant bring ourselves to say were almost up!

Very few sides can actually average over 2 points per game over a 10/11 game sequence.

86 points may well be enough for us - 14 points from 10 games.

Two sides would need to do get 2 or more points per game to overhaul us. Fleetwood need 2 points per game to get 86, Bolton 2.17 points per game and Scunthorpe 2.5 points per game.

I'm starting to believe.

Looking at that table I am beginning to think a Bolton win on Saturday would be better.

HH

No it wouldn't if Fleetwood beat them it becomes a 2 team race! With all the pressure on fleetwood with them having to play each game looking over their shoulder knowing even if they win they still might not catch us!

Oh and have a look at millwalls fixtures for anyone thinking they are still in this. It would take a championship winning effort to get automatic from where they are with who they have left!

Swindon Town 1-3 Blades
Blades 2-0 Charlton
Oldham 1-1 Blades
Blades 2-2 Millwall
Blades 4-0 Coventry
Northampton 1-2 Blades
Port Vale 1-0 Blades
Blades 3-1 Bradford
MK Dons 1-1 Blades
Blades 3-0 Chesterfield

93 points. Blades Champions.

The Footballing Gods have that you cunts.

NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo please don't say that. You don't know what I have to do to appease them every day.

Bolton fan finally gets the message, and passes it on to the other 13,000 or so up there, and 27,000 or so down here:

"Not that there was any danger of us nicking it, but 1st place has gone now. 2nd is still very much on if we avoid defeat Saturday"

Surely we want Fleetwood to win? We're 11 points clear of Scunthorpe and 12 of Bolton. It would also dent Bolton's confidence.

Fuck winning the league. I couldn't care less. Going up is the be all and end all.

why would it stop us winning the title
they still need to win 2 more than us in the last 10

To be fair , I agreed with you untill tonight .

But there's something about this win tonight that feels very different . A draw or a loss and the collywobbles could have set in ( certainly amongst us lot ) but the win feels like a defining moment .

I reckon we'll really play well now untill the end of the season and the title will be ours . It's a long time I've felt this confident ...... and it feels fucking great !

Where are the ' one game at a time' fools, oh I shouldn't say that because some fuckin alien being is going to spoil it

Fucking Port Vale? Wilder out.

Wonder if any Chessy fans will turn up for the last match. They will surely be relegated by then and I doubt they'll want to come and watch the trophy parade.
Maybe more tickets for us..........?

Agree with this.

Before the win at Oxford I was very keen for Fleetwood to win - now I think a draw - whilst mathematically worse for us than a Fleetwood win by a point - it has the benefit of "keeping it tight" down there. We are still in a position of needing 2 teams to overhaul us, and thats looking increasingly unlikely that Scunthorpe will be one of those teams.

Even a Bolton Win has a silver lining in that finally Fleetwoods streak will have ended - and 6 of Boltons following 8 games are away from home...

like most things you look at the pros and cons

pros
we are playing really well over 90 minutes to get the job done
we have no players suspended or up for suspension soon
we are scoring freely away from home
we have a good 8 points lead overall
we are 11 points clear of 3rd and the play offs
the games left are plummeting
scunthorpe have imploded
bolton are in disarray
Fleetwood are the only real challenge
weve got Chis Wilder and Knill keeping it real
the squad love the fans , the fans love the squad
there's a connection thats palpable
we have had all the really difficult games ,
no top 6 away to play
we play no one away thats above 14th

cons
previous managers have failed with different players
we let in the odd goal going for wins , but still win

now then , lets weigh that up

One you forgot,

Cons, not managed by Tomorrow man Appleton :D

Bolton fans say we only beat them because they had injuries and suspensions and were weakened. However, what a team capable of winning the league do is build a squad so that injuries and suspensions in the vital run in aren't such an issue. That's why I think we'll go up, strength in depth, and it's down to CW and Knill. Personally I think 82 points will be enough to go up, so 3 wins and a draw from our remaining 10... Now it seems realistic!
