Fair point Workington .I think Mr Clough saw Wallace as a integral clog in the team , but unfortunately for him , Mr Clough and us fans , it is not going to happen . We took a punt and it has not worked out due to one injury after another . Joking apart a great pity for all , because the bloke does have class.

I think I must have missed the joke!

I thought that was Higdon?

The problem with Higdon when he plays , moves around like he is dieting for a shit , I am certain if he could make it to the dressing room , he would come back on the field 2 stone lighter. Higdon enigma problem solved.( simple solution , we've all been there)

Cheers mate, I take it you were there.
Can you shine any light on whether Wallace was injured when he came off?He would be a bigger bonus to us in the run in than diego in my opinion
I was there, Wallace took a heavy tackle, but the referee didn`t even give the foul. He didn`t need treatment, and completed close to an hour (the tackle was 30 mins in), whether the ankle stiffened up, I don`t know. The poster on Bladesmad was closer than me, when Wallace came off.

Wow. Coventry look dreadful from that; has the lad in goal second half ever played there before?
Oddly he was a striker. They swapped the keeper and striker at halftime. Looking at the goals though thrres some shocking defending. How much time and space did they give us? Leaving players unmarked, no players on posts at corners and not tracking runners.

If that's the U21 standard then there's a huge step up to League 1

It might be earlier in this thread but someone somewhere said that Coventry brought 12 players with their only sub being a keeper. One of their outfielders was forced off so they brought on the sub keeper up front then swapped him with the starting keeper in the second half.

That doesn't in any way excuse the shambolic defending which looked much like my work team's as we shipped 7 on Monday too. No-one picking up runners, no-one taking responsibility.

What would Alan Hansen make of it all...
