Uhm... I.... Uhm.... That's pretty much all I've got. The title says it all.

Coventry swapped their striker and 'keeper around when it was 3-0! An odd move, but it nearly paid off when the 'striker' saved a penalty. The 'keeper probably won't be getting picked as a forward anytime soon.

I think he's a complete write off while ever cloughie is in charge anyway, it's just so hard for me to jump off the hype train

Coventry City U21's were absolutely thrashed 7-0 at Sheffield United

Darren Murray's side fell behind to a goal on the stroke of half-time through Coustrain at the far post and conceded a second goal early in the second half of a game played at United's training ground at Shirecliffe though De Girolamo with a left footed shot.

In the 53rd minute, United scored a third thanks to Kieran Wallace lashing the ball into the net.

Darren Murray decided to take the City keeper and play him up front, whilst playing an outfield player in goal and this allowed United to score a fourth through Keiran Wallace in the 64th minute.

Berry made it 5-0 in the 66th minute before United were awarded a penalty which saw Ben Whiteman's kick superly saved.

However, De Girolamo scored a sixth in the 69th minute, following a corner from the penalty save and he completed his hat-trick with The Blades seventh goal of the afternoon in the 75th minute.

Sheffield United: Long, Banton, Alcock, J.Wallace, McGahey, Whiteman, Adams, Dimaio, De Girolamo, K.Wallace, Coustrain

Looks like Wallace (J) injured again - you have to wonder whether he'll ever be fit.

Where does it say Wallace is injured?
The "like" was me wanting to know the answer too... Not me liking the fact that our best/most illusive player is injured again

He came off after an hour, but the report i saw just said he was continuing his come back from injury in very wet and windy conditions. He could be injured because he came off after 80 minutes in the last U21 game,or he could simply be being looked after with the conditions on hand in a very crucial month for us.Here's the report but we might find out more at a later date.

United's U21s made it two wins from two matches in 2015 with a resounding victory over Coventry City at Shirecliffe on Monday afternoon.

The home side dominated from the first whistle to the last despite the wet and windy conditions and Diego De Girolamo scored a second-half hat-trick, as United netted six times without replay after the break.

Joel Coustrain had earlier opened the scoring just before half-time, before Kieran Wallace with a brace and substitute Sam Berry added their names to the scoresheet.

James Wallace completed just over an hour as he continues to regain his match fitness, whilst Craig Alcock got another 90 minutes under his belt on his return following a niggling back problem.

On a very heavy playing surface that had done extremely well to withstand a pre-match downpour, the home side were immediately on the front foot with James Wallace heading over in the Blades first attack.

Coustrain then had a powerful shot saved, before Dimaio prodded wide with the goal at his mercy. It was attack after attack for United and Kieran Wallace, De Girolamo and Dimaio all hesitated when the ball dropped in the penalty area, before Kieran's namesake James saw his goalbound header tipped on to the crossbar from Whiteman's inviting centre.

De Girolamo was the next to hit the woodwork from Coustrain's cross as United looked like being frustrated in a first-half they had bossed.

But in the final minute of the opening 45 the Blades scored, Adams controlled Long's kick forward and having been freed by Kieran Wallace, De Girolamo floated the ball to the back post where the onrushing COUSTRAIN headed home.

Within four minutes of the restart DE GIROLAMO scored his first of the afternoon, with Kieran WALLACE claiming the assist. Moments later it was the former Nottingham Forest trainee who applied the finishing touch to make it three after good work from James Wallace, who was then replaced by Sam Berry, with Whiteman moving into midfield.

WALLACE then got his second and United's fourth in the 66th minute after a threaded pass from Dimaio had sent the former Ilkeston man through on goal.

Khan and McDonagh replaced Adams and Wallace, but the goals kept coming. From a Whiteman corner on the right, BERRY rose highest to make it five. Khan was then upened in the penalty area, but although Whiteman's saw his spot-kick well saved, DE GIROLAMO scored from close range from the resulting corner.

With just over ten minutes remaining DE GIROLAMO rattled home his third with a powerful left-footed strike from the edge of the edge of the area to round off the scoring.

Blades: Long, Banton, Alcock, J. Wallace (Berry 63), McGahey, Whiteman, Adams (Khan 69), Dimaio, De Girolamo, K. Wallace (McDonagh 69), Coustrain.
Unused: Paling, Hamilton.

The lad is just not good enough yet for the first team . If he was or when he is Mr Clough will select him to play . There is a massive difference between U21 and First team footy , and the lad is not ready yet.

Mr Clough knows what he is doing and he for one does not go with all the hype .

No actual mention of Wallace's injury is there. I have a real soft spot for tidy little players like him, reed and Baxter but he's a passenger right now- I feel sorry for the kid but how long do we persevere for?

Lets just hope he gets over it,what i would do is leave him out completely until he is playing practice matches in training and playing them without being hesitant in any challenges. He's a cracking player who no doubt would be playing much higher if it weren't for his injuries.

There's an even bigger difference between non league Ilkeston and league one football but that's not stopped clough playing k.wallace and Adams has it.

True ,you are correct , but have you ever thought , the 2no lads may perhaps be better prospects , at this moment in time ,with a little bit more commitment , than Diego ,having played at Ilkeston.

Coventry only brought 12 players, including 2 keepers, so when one of their outfield players was forced off at the break, they put their first half keeper up front, only to put him back in goal, when the third went in. Could have been double today, and it was Banton and Adams who hit the bar, don't know who did the report on the official site, but to confuse Banton for Diego takes some doing!! Utd were excellent all over, but Coventry were a disgrace, and gave up after the third.

Cheers mate, I take it you were there.
Can you shine any light on whether Wallace was injured when he came off?He would be a bigger bonus to us in the run in than diego in my opinion

Well, we're probably less sick of it than he is to be honest.

For us, it's an irritation that one player of the many employed by the club we support keeps getting injured.

For him, it's his whole career and livelihood being ruined.

Fair point Workington .I think Mr Clough saw Wallace as a integral clog in the team , but unfortunately for him , Mr Clough and us fans , it is not going to happen . We took a punt and it has not worked out due to one injury after another . Joking apart a great pity for all , because the bloke does have class.
