We were bottom of the league and 1.0 down to a lively Oxford side so in your wildest dreams did you think we would be winning the title with 3 matches to go after dominating the league for a long time ?
My thoughts at the time were oh no not another dismal season of struggle whilst watching other clubs disappear out of sight (think we were already 11 points behind top place at time !) Cue Captain Billy and forgotten man Wilson with the winner and here we are !
Now its a dream come come true !
I have watched us home and away for 50 years and this year has been a magic experience and I cant thank CW enough for changing this around .......

Also at that time we were 11 points behind the league leaders bolton, now 12 points ahead of them. What a great achievement from the Blades.

While we were adrift at the bottom of the league Chesterfield were celebrating at the top with a certain Ched Evans seemingly scoring for fun.

The one I look at every time I look at the table is the goal difference between us and scunny, cannot remember now how big it was but to pull it round like we have in unbelievable

I remember thinking after the first 4 games and looking at the table at the time, I was hoping for a top 10 finish and that we would maybe squeeze into a playoff spot!!. How wrong could I have been!!. I'd underestimated the genius that is tufty. He fully deserves all the gratitude that we can give him!!. Champions

I think CW and AK have more than earned the respect of the fans, no matter how it goes, I genuinely believe that the fans will get behind the manager and team next season.

Amended slightly but no. Thought it'd be a season of clearing out then changing things here and there to see what worked.
Ready to wait 10 games to get a realistic idea what we were trying to do.
What we have witnessed happens to other teams not us......that is until now.

I'll hold my hand up and say I was much more worried about relegation than any hope of promotion at that stage. 6 years of crap and you kind of get used to disappointment and false dawns. They've done incredibly well. I actually feel confident that the team will perform under them as best it can. Even if we spent nothing next season I'd have faith they could keep us up.

I've had some low points following the Blades but that period when Shrewsbury went three up was up there.

If only Wilder would have played Wright from the 1st game, we would have been up in Feb.

If we had lost that game and then at Gills a week later on Live TV McCabes itchy trigger finger may have gone into panic mode.

If this season has proved anything above all else it's that McCabe made the right decision in appointing Chris Wilder along with Alan Knill.

If any Blade was granted one wish before kick at Bolton on the opening day we know what that wish would be and 4 games in would you ever have believed it would or could ever happen at all.

It's nothing short of miraculous when you think about and proves beyond doubt that with the right tools in place then anything possible can happen.

We played some nice stuff against Oxford that night but looked short of power and pace. Desperately needed a win.

At 1-0 down to Oxford i turned to my brother and said, "With 3 games left we will be Champions, 12 points clear of second and 16 clear of third and be on 91 points"and top scorers in the country". Not bad eh?
