And I reckon both Sheffield teams could have ended up in the playoffs. As it is, I think us and Wednesday will run out of games.

Only one of us going to Wembley though :D

Sheffield Wednesday finishing in the top half of the Championship?

I do wonder what Gray is thinking, his side is dependant on the loan players, to the degree their creativity and goals are coming from players that wont be their next season. The wendys will be dreaming of a promotion push next season, but that will be unlikely, as the squad will need to be rebuilt again, which has been the case for the last few seasons.

By all accounts though the young lads from the youth set up look pretty good, doubt they will be able to keep them if they start showing consistent form though, I get the impression mandy wants a quick sell, or failing that, make as much as he can out of them while he's there.

I know what you mean, could you even imagine us relying on loan players

we have two loan players in the first choice 11 atm which is about average. The last time the blades relied on loans to much we were relegated.

Ive had a pig telling me this morning how they are the best team in that league by miles and they would put at least 6 past us if they were playing us. Hes normally quite a nice bloke but fuck me are they deluded wankers when they get on to football. They genuinely do think they are massive and turn into brash deluded braggarts ,I honestly have never met a Blade who does the same.

Trying to bring this back around to the Blades, seeing as though its in 'Blades General Chat'.

I also think we'll probably run out of games to make the play offs and perhaps cramming so many games into the back end of the season we'll be feeling it a little more than perhaps Peterborough or MK Dons.

Obviously we can still make it points wise, but with Brentford, Wolves, Crawley and the like to play i think we'll struggle to hit the points we need and indeed get the goals to give us a decent goal difference.

If we do make it still I just feel we won't go up.

Win the FA cup, thats our target. If we get to the play offs we'll see...

I thought I had wandered into a parallel universe in this thread. Why are people obsessed with the unclean, we are blades, the only true football team in this great city.

I'm glad they're on a good run, it will give them false hope. They're getting results and the rub of the green, but quite frankly their squad is miles away from one that will sustain a playoff push. How many of their team would get into Forests side for example? 1 or 2, and I couldn't even suggest who. So don't mind this run at all.

On us, hopefully as we are the more sensible bunch, we can appreciate that 2 months ago we would have been delighted with a 20th place finish, so who cares if we can't make playoffs. All about next year.

The remit for Clough this season was to stay in this league ,we will easily do that ,but he has overachieved massively by a) getting towards the play offs b) a brilliant cup run ,c) reinventing the team and bonding the club and d) signing excellent players with a view to having a very strong team next year.
We shouldn't get carried away with his achievements and be patient with him ,we have a potential managerial legend for Sheff Utd in our hands given time and backing.

The one word that worries me is "backing"

Who as Blaðes on here gives a flying fuck what the pork do , certainly not me.
100 % behind my team , don't care how many loans , crowds , run they may be on , this talk should be moved to where it belongs
Bladesmad , or the Stir website , brilliant end to a shit season and as Rossb 123 said can't wait for next season either .
UTB .

Don't give a fuck about play offs! We're staying up and goig to Wembley. If we'd have said that in December we'd have been sectioned.

Ah, but you're forgetting the MASSIVE just over 18k they got t'other night v. QPR.

And 20.6k v. Brum last Saturday which will have included around 2k from Brum.

Back to the Blades. If this season ended now, it would go down as a good 'un.
