In 2008 when we came down to the Championship is the most ambitious period we’ve ever had in our entire history.
We appointed one of the biggest names in football (Brian Robson’s ) with a very highly rated assistant (Brian Kidd).
Both were on massive salaries and we were able to attract big name (brought in Cahill and Egiogue on loan).
We were also set for world domination buying clubs in China, Hungary and having links in Australia, Belgium and Brazil.
The irony was we were too ambitious, the gamble failed and it took years to recover.
