Apart from one of the most memorable nights of my life, still, my main memory is that one of my mates who I sat with all season as season ticket holders wasn't allowed to go because he had a piano lesson which his parents wouldn't let him miss.
He gave his ticket to my cousin so it wasn't wasted and then pretended that he wasn't too bothered about having to miss the game as he thought we would win anyway, the stinking liar.

Blades 5 Cardiff City 1
Probably don't need to say much more. My first season as a Blade and my first big memorable game 43000 there). Looking forward to Sunday being another such day even though we are already champions.
Sheffield United, the emotional roller coaster that just keeps giving
Makes one think as I remember the game well.
There was no technology in those days and not even teletext and the road system was limited.
Was living in Grimsby at the time and I kept phoning up the Lane to get the latest score.
Now we have all the technology available to us to even see a stream of the game on Facebook
Can it get any better?

What a brilliant season we have enjoyed.

I was mistaken by Cardiff fans to be a fellow supporter after the match, just as well really as they had bottles and were getting ready for defensive action against thousands of Blades who were ambushing them outside Midland Station. Watford on the Saturday completed matters

Atmosphere against Hull at Easter was better in my opinion.

I don`t know about better. It was certainly different.

I've been lurking on here for many years but I finally feel motivated to post. The Cardiff game remains the best match I have been to. I was 14 and it had been the first season that I was allowed to go to the matches and I still have all the programmes sellotaped in a scrapbook. We had to win if we were going to be promoted and we blew them away. Is it really 46 years ago?

Went with my dad to this one and we had seats in the Cricket Pavilion. Probably the first time I'd had a seat at a football match, although before the match my dad also decided to splash out on seats for the whole family for the Watford game in the Bramall Lane Stand on the Saturday. I would also say that this match remaikns my favourite after all these years.

In mi last year at School, bus from Worksop were packed, fuckin late, got stuck in the traffic, couldn't get under the Shorehom Roof into the Kop

Ended up down the side, saw not a great deal ................... magic
