I'm not sure why you "cant wait" to be honest. Sure, the Kop and South Stand are in need of some serious updating, but I'd rather see them upgraded gradually to meet forcasted demand rather than just demolished and an extra 12,000 seats added without a plan on how to fill them.
What's the point of adding 12,000 seats when we hardly ever sell out now? Especially while we're stuck in this godforsaken league. There's nothing worse than a half empty ground. Even a 3/4 full stadium can look shit, look at Sunderland on Saturday for proof.
We currently have a ground to be immensely proud of. I love our stadium as it is now, especially when you contrast it with, say, 15 years ago (or even 5 years ago!). I'm sure it will be even better when parts are rebuilt/added, but I'd prefer those upgrades to happen when we need them, not because "we" want to host some crappy third rate World Cup game.
No doubt we'll hear lots of talk about bringing in private investment and government grants to revitalize the area. If you want to see how that works out long term take a walk around Attercliffe.
