Genuine question, why do you feel that way?

My attitude is similar to what I had before football restarted: football with no fans is better than no football at all. So by extension football with SOME fans is better than football with no fans.

And I say this as someone who would probably not get a ticket to any of the games if it was done on loyalty points (as opposed to having a ST, in which case, woohoo). I'd be more than happy for other people to get to go though seeing as my current circumstances are just watching every game on TV anyway.

That's spot on. As with everything post-Covid, it's a gradual progression back to a state of normality. There's no way they'll say no fans at all for, say, six months and then say everyone back in now.

The Premier League will be pushing to get a proportion of fans back in a soon as possible, primarily because the TV product is better when fans are inside the stadium.

40% is a good start, and I also say that as someone who wouldn't stand a chance of being amongst the 40%.

Yes definitely but I can see some bloody human insisting that his season ticket is more important than Mr Tiddles season ticket - and its me that deals with the fall out.

You should have seen his disgusting litter tray after he got turned away for being drunk last season.
 
I'd have thought the fairest way would be a ballot or maybe somehow rotating fans (seems complicated though).

I'm 100% not interested in another loyalty points debate, fair play to them that've earned them, if you go to all the away games you deserve to go to all the away games.

I just think this is a bit different... loads of folk never miss a game at home so unfair to expect them to miss them all because others can go to away games. Bit of turn taking somehow I'd imagine (but aye, let's hope it improves by then anyway)
 



Deciding which 40% gets to go to games will be a nightmare no matter how fair you try to make it.

Away games will be easier to sort but then again you could argue that away fans should be banned until all fans are back.
 
Us in the Pukka pies corner are regarded as lepers anyways, so we'll all be allowed back in.
Seriously I'm in the every body or none camp. Delay any new season until October or later. Situation could be different later.
 
look 40% is better than 0% not sure a blunt loyalty point threshold would be the way to do it but theres never going to be a way that keeps everybody happy, lets see what is devised and whatever it is it is.
 
The Baltimore Ravens have already announced that they are "carrying" peoples ST seats (and the right to buy them) onto next season (i.e. the one starting in Sep 2021) - an acknowledgement that if there are fans they won`t be at full capacity and so the 2020 season will likely see "different" seating arrangements.

There isn`t going to be a perfect solution - but I certainly wouldn`t be comfortable with the same 11k people getting into every single game - but those who are in the 11k I can absolutely understand might be wondering why anyone with fewer Loyalty points should get in ahead of them for certain games...

That's all well and good, provided that every game is broadcast on TV as they are now, including the sacred 3pm kick offs. It would make sense as those who can't attend could, in theory, use their money to pay broadcaster subscriptions.

I think it will be fine for the PL, but I wouldn't put it past the powers that be and broadcasters to play silly buggers, especially for the lower leagues. There is now way they will broadcast all of those matches.
 
Register to be able to buy tickets.

Get an email that a ticket is allocated to you, if you would like to attend, buy within 24/48 hours or before a certain date (reallocated if not)

Go to game.

Simple.

You can buy some kind of reduced price season ticket that includes payment for the seats if you're drawn, and hopefully match passes to watch (worked out with TV providers) if not.

It's only a nightmare if the fans make it a nightmare, if you don't understand why this needs to be done and get the hump about having more loyalty points and not being drawn to attend then you're a massive bellend frankly.

Exceptional circumstances, whenever we're back to our old normal, or at least within touching distance of it, your loyalty points will have power again, but for this season and maybe the next, we'll be having reduced capacities, they probably won't.

Give me 13K Blades cheering the lads on over zero any day.
 
I think the fairest way to do it would be as some have said, half go to one game, then sit out the next. The issue you then have is what if one half get to see man utd, Tottenham, Liverpool etc. Then the other half get Watford, Brentford, Brighton etc. They'd have to be some sort of compromise.

Maybe once we know who's in the league next year we could poll fans on what they deem the 6 biggest home games and the 6 least appetising and then divvy three up from each. Then that would most likely please the most.

Still rather all go or none! Wouldn't like the idea of freezing my rear off in January with no bodies around me.

That's fair, I was operating on the presumption that all games would be televised in some format.
 



Aaaah! So this was the purpose of loyalty points all along! To start a great culling of Blades' fans in case disaster happens. Plus, how is any new fan suppose to accrue the vast amount of points needed to get a ticket. I personally don't have this problem, but I have a few younger friends who do. Can't we donate points?
Can I take the points of a dead relative? 😂🤨
