He was one of the few bright sparks of that time, but really all that means is that he was an average/decent 3rd tier player who worked hard and had decent technique. You do have to give him his dues however, I've never seen such a slightly built professional footballer and you have to assume he has worked his balls off to even come close to competing physically in the modern game. I still recall the Bradford defender chucking him like a rag doll at Valley Parade, and astonishingly not giving us a penalty! I have no issues with the likes of Scoogs.
