Bob Booker will be coming up to Sheffield on November 3 & 4!

He will be signing copies of his biography "Ooh Aah - The Bob Booker Story at:

WH Smith - Fargate 3rd November 3-4pm

WH Smith - Meadowhall 3rd November 6-7pm

The SUISA is then holding a Q&A evening in the Platinum Suite at Bramall Lane on 3rd November from 7.30pm with Bob Booker & Carl Bradshaw and this sounds like an amazing evening packed full of stories from the Dave Bassett era and should not be missed by any supporter. Tickets are £10 and are available from the SUISA.

Bob will then be signing books in the Sheffield United Superstore on 4th November at 12.30pm before the Hull City match.

Hopefully a lot of you will take one of these opportunities to meet Bob and have a chat with him even if you don't want to buy his book - which has received some incredible reviews on Amazon

Great book and added a review on Amazon. All Blades whatever their age should read this book as it sums up what the Blades are about. Took me back to exhilarating days. Younger blades will see a very similar situation to now, after years in the doldrums to get our pride back.

Not Roy of the Rovers but Bobby of the Blades !

Greville - love the book. I have an odd request ! But do you have a colour picture of the Brentford v sheff utd game in April 1981. We appear to be wearing a shirt from a different decade. Picture attached ! Does that look like Griffin park to you ?

Yes it does. I was at the game which was a 1-1 draw but can't remember your kit. I do recall Conroy playing a blinder in goal. I will ask around and see if anyone has a photo from the game.

The only photo of the 79/80 game I have seen is of Micky Speight and Doug Allder wrestling on the floor before Alf Grey sent them both off.

Brilliant - Greville, could you post the pic of speight & allder if possible, especially if it's in colour. As we don't know if united played in yellow that season !! Cheers !

The book is the best football book I've read. It has great insight into the real things happening in Bob's life during his career and the struggle settling in Sheffield. It's quite emotional too !

Really appreciate your lovely words and delighted that Sheffield United fans enjoyed the book as it meant that I managed to get what playing for the club meant as well as the relationship between the players, club and the city. Bob is such a lovely and amazing man. There is not a bad bone in his body and he has taught me so much in the last year or so about dedication, persistence, hard work, overcoming obstacles and coping with life's problems - but his life has also been a bit of a fairy tale too and he has accomplished so much.

I will stop going on now.

Please try and meet up with him next weekend - Sheffield and the Blades fans and the time he spent with you are so important to him and he is really excited about coming back.

Due to unforeseen circumstances the SUISA evening in the Platinum Suite has been cancelled.

However, the two WHSmith & The Blades Superstore signings are going ahead as planned.

I have just finished reading the book, what a great read and as others have said very emotional in places, Ooooh Ahhh is a proper bloke and true gent, worked his way up from the bottom and when he finally made it, never gave anything less than 100%.

Thank you. Any chance of a review here or on Amazon?

Much underrated player in my opinion. Probably the best unsung hero in the last 30 years. Will make a great Christmas prezzie

Fantastic to meet Bob last night and get the book signed. Can't wait to read it:)

Nice to get the chance to have a little chat too, the guy is a real gent. We got there in the end with my name bless him, first he thought I said Liam, then it was Niel, finally we got Neil right :)

Thank you Greville, and please pass my thanks onto Bob as well. Nice to see Rooks there too.

Lovely to see so many of you yesterday at WH Smith x 2. Bob will be in the club shop today to sign books if you wanters signed or wish to buy one and then he will be on the Kop to watch the game.

Fantastic read Greville ... I've done you a book review and emailed it to Flashing Blade and the online United fanzine Pie and a Pint for inclusion there.

Hoping to get down to the Lane for the book signing today, be about 1.30 though!

Agree with all that, got my book signed in Meadowhall and Bob took time to have a chat with everybody in the queue. He was genuinely thrilled that people wanted to meet him. The guy in front of me was a Barnsley fan, who took some ribbing from Bob and Mick Rooker because of that!
