Sounds like a winger, striker, cm and RB to me.

All which we probably need, 3 at the very least.

We absolutely do need 4.
1- Out wide we are still a little toothless for me, Rak Saki should be impact sub, Brooks needs a loan out.
2- CM- we are blaster short, Davies is a bit part player for the rest of the season due to injuries and getting his game back, and Vini missing yesterday shows we are short there.
3- Striker- Moore isn’t scoring enough, Campbell is on a streak but struggling with injury so needs to be sub/rotation.
4- Right back- Gilchrist is a Cb, he should be cover for Anel and Souttar. Seriki is ok, lacks consistency.

There you go, get 4 improvements to those areas and we have it in the bag and will take some stopping.
Wouldn’t like to suggest names, but 2 loan spots will surely be filled so would hope we can look at the attacking areas for those and look at some younger premier league stars not getting games or recalled from elsewhere (Stockport) and Saints perhaps.

Will Barry count as a youth loan and allow us to get three loans in?

Going to guess here based off of the recent links.

BBD, James Bree, Tyler Morton and Ashley Barnes.

Not sure why we would go for a RB (Bree) but those 4 would be a decent window.

Other options (again based off of the links): Ricky Jade-Jones, Tom Cannon (an old link), Grimes from Swansea (again an old link).

If we get injuries, loss of form etc, what would you suggest? Rely on players proven to be not quite good enough?

Of course any new signing has to be able to add quality to what we already have, but unless we make sure there's competition for places

Nope, agreed. But currently we've either got an inexperienced right back who doesn't get forward but is defensively sound or an inexperienced right back who gets forward well but struggles defensively.

It's probably the one part of the pitch where a bit of experience would be useful, especially as the right wingers are also inexperienced kids

Exactly that, RB for me is fine as we have Gilchrist and Seriki plus Shackleton can play there in an emergency. We definitely need the other 3 positions far more desperately and that's where any money should be spent

have to agree if were limited to how many we can bring in theres definetly at least 3 positions in front of signing another rb lòoking very much like ben brereton has jumped in front of tom cannon and barnes looks like cover for moore another midfielder and winger for me so 4 required and think we will get em once takeover is completed rak-saki definetly needs competition down that right hes been coasting in last few games mainly because hes got no competition for the spot
