11 Mar 1989 - SUFC 5 - 1 HTFC. My mum died that day so I was heading north.

14 Mar 1989 - Bury 1 - 2 SUFC. Went to Gigg Lane with my brothers-in-law. Great win. Cheered me up a bit.

Was the Preston home win the one where Brian Smith broke his leg? If so, I was at that one.

And sent off for the video of us demolishing Swansea City.

3-3 away at Port Vale - drove up from London, delayed so parked up when we could see the flood lights then ran, railway line in the way so scrambled down across and up, arrived at HT covered in mud.
3-2 away at Norwich - supposed to be on a mini bus picking up from London, wife went into labour on the morning of the match, very inconsiderate, I missed the match for those wondering.
2-2 away at Wolves when 2 sides of their ground were shut and we were on the side of their kop, great atmosphere from the blades.

Brian Smith broke his leg in the 3-1 home win v Preston Sat 8 April 1989. The Saturday before the Hillsborough disaster.

We were away at Northampton when the Illsborough disaster happened, still remember all around us in our open away end on transistor radios tellin the rest of us the dreadful stuff going on. Should have bulldozed the place after.
