Can't believe Alan Cork was 34 in that match. He looks about 70!
I remember standing on the terrace in pouring rain at Plough Lane in the 1983-4 season. It was the New Year bank holiday fixture. We had been playing really well in appalling conditions. Edwards put us one up, but Cork equalised for them. Headed goal. We eventually lost 3-1.
Cork had scored quite a few goals for them and I remember thinking on that day that he was a good player. It was more about his positioning and anticipation. He wasn't fast, but seemed to get a yard on his marker just by his reading of the game.
