New Stags loanee, Maxime Chanot, was left frustrated following Mansfield's defeat to lowly Woking this afternoon despite picking up the man-of-the-match award on his debut.
Chanot, 18, who signed on-loan from Sheffield United late yesterday afternoon enjoyed his debut, but was left to rue the disappointing result, as the Stags fell to their first home league defeat of the season at the hands of Woking.
The game's most contentious moment came 13 minutes into the second half when referee Mr Mohareb awarded the visitors a penalty for an apparent coming together between Alan O'Hare and Wilfred Domoraud.
But Chanot refused to be drawn on the incident that proved to be the only goal by claiming ''The referee is the boss on the pitch.''
However, he was pleased with his opening performance saying "'It was my first start and I was very happy with the man-of-the-match award, although I'll give it to my parents because I don't drink'.''
When asked about his future plans, the youngster said he hoped to get some good experience from his time at Field Mill and it would then be up to Mansfield and his club, Sheffield United as to what happens next.
