Personally think we'll see this as the de facto formation this season. With the attempt to introduce Lowe v's Fulham, Ampadu's emergence as a Norwood upgrade, and Brewsters inclusion last night, coupled with the performance, I recon CWAK have found their preferred group.

FWIW, it goes without saying JOC at LCB would improve this team immeasurably. I think Robinson is a better option than Steven at LCB IF we have Lowe and Osborn there to provide an attacking threat down the left.

I personally wouldn't mind 3421 which can easily morph into 343 which a few teams use now.

All of the suggested formations WILL have been discussed by the management team, so why haven't they been tried?

The reason is absolutely clear - CW continues to say and has said numerous times - that we're not going to take a wrecking ball to what we do which is 352.

What we need to do - is just do 352 better than what we've done since the start of the season............and not to panic about where we are.

Hats off to Burnley and in particular to Sean Dyche - back to basics, don't concede, score a goal, keep it tight, get three points, move on to next game - we NEED to do just this starting at WBA

I've wondered for a while if the ideal evolution of our system was not to drop the number 10 role, but to play with two of them. Theoretically, it would help us keep the ball better, create overloads and the AMs could drift wide to protect the flanks when we lose the ball. Like a 3-4-2-1 is possession, a 5-4-1 out of possession. When we were supposedly trying to bring in John Swift, I thought he and Freeman could play in front of Berge and Fleck, and it'd be potentially great to watch. But it never happened and then we let Freeman go (and he's not pulling up any trees, in fairness).

I totally understand why Wilder is sticking with a system that got us to 9th in the Premier League, and he's the best man for this job, but we do look very predictable at the moment.
