2500th HOME LEAGUE FIXTURE

September 8th 2001. 2-2 draw. Remember it well. First game I attended after being away from Sheffield for 6 years.

3 days later 9/11 happened in USA.

I think that night we played at Grimsby in a laegue cup match

We did play Grimsby and I think we lost on pens, I went with my Dad, surreal evening.

I remember the 2000th home game. It was against Bradford City in 2001 or 2002. I've still got the free enamel badge that the club gave away to commemorate the occasion. Pretty sure it was a 2 2 draw and was just after Bradford had come down from the Premier league.

Preston, Burnley, Blackburn and Wolves have all been playing League games at their current grounds longer than we have.

Forest, Sunderland, Wednesday and Everton must also be pretty close to 5,000.

Does Preston count after they turned the whole stadium round 90⁰ late 80s or early 90s? Is it still the same stadium?
That said, Bramall Lane is a bit of a Trigger's broom so does it count as the same stadium

PNE swapped which ends were used for home and away fans in the 1990s. They didn’t change the orientation during redevelopment.
