Like the memory, it's a little faded but it still fits. What a day to be alive!

Jesus 25 years flown by, I was there, the filth were putting us under a bit of pressure at the end of the 1st half, they had a corner and I was screaming at the ref to blow for HT, we cleared the corner and broke away for Dane to get the first........glad the ref ignored me. Brilliant Brilliant day.

I've still never forgiven them for moving it from a Saturday to a Sunday, as there would have been nothing finer than seeing us batter the snortbeasts on my 14th birthday.

Did you get a train set?

It was my 21st birthday that day what a fantastic day it was and to top it off shall we just say I had my fair share of Guinness!

Ha ha brownie my friend you're disappointment was my joy as it was my 21st birthday òn the 17th,absolutely fabulous!

Yep the nearest game to my birthday this weekend as that one was then.

Went to both the derby games that season

2-0 home win
To be honest I felt Wednesday were clearly the better side controllling possession and we were lucky to win.
Very scrappy game played at 100mph low on quality.

3-1 away win
This match meant far more because we were definitely the better team on the night
Playing the classic away display. Wednesday had a lot of attacks but never looked like scoring.
We didn't attack much but always looked really dangerous on the break.

Disagree with that, we tore into them. Pob hit the bar and I recall Tracey making another decent save but that aside I think we were in control. Even Francis conceded afterwards that his team didn't know how to play in Derby games and we were worth the win. If only Dane's thunderbolt towards the end had gone in (it nearly broke Phil King's arm on the line) I think we'd have gone on to avenge the BDM.

Agree that the 3-1 away win was much better

43 years ago. We hammered the 1972 and 1975 League Champions. Kick off was 2pm because of Power Cuts

I was there that day.

TC's perfect layoff to Woody for our second is so simple and yet so difficult to execute.

Heady days - we did do magic - but I really feel them coming back.

Loved both derby day wins that season. All the pigs at school were giving it large in the weeks leading up to both games. Tremendous to go to school the days after and see their faces.

We had played them in friendlies and the ZDS but I was only just born when the Boxing Day Massacre took place so this game was the first time we had ever played them in my life and the build up was so exciting but nerve wracking. To beat them was brilliant. I remember seeing Deano with arms aloft saluting the Kop as he came back to half way after he scored through Woods' legs. The Pigs fans stood silent and was so happy genuinely thinking is there a better feeling than that!

You lucky sod, Boxing Day was my first Sheffield derby, a terrible day to be a Blade! The 91/92 double certainly help eradicate some of that match in 1979. Still reckon we should have totally laid to rest the BDM in '06 when Akinshitebiyi missed a shed full of easy chances.

Remember it well. 17 years old and arrested for running on the pitch from John St after the first goal. Walked out of the ground by the officer in front of the pig fans, all spitting in me. Just gave them the 1-0 sign laughing

I can see myself stood on railings for 3rd goal , and my old da RIP stood behind me , we normally sat on John st stand , but da couldn't get our normal tickets , the match was shown on Sunday on Yorkshire TV , if memory serves me right .
