Anybody who was in the ground on Friday night knows there were nowhere near 24k there. That was the emptiest the South stand has been for a league game in years and they brought about 500, possibly 600 at the most.
In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really matter.![]()
I was stuck in bloody Belfast cos of weather with my season ticket in my wallet.
I sit on the Kop and it was empty round me where it’s usually pretty full, I could also see all of the South Stand and I can assure you it was the emptiest in years, it’s a shame there’s no photographic evidence."Years"? Really? Oddly enough the SS near the front had less empty seats than the two supposed "recent "sell outs". In any event "emptiest" gives a totally inaccurate impression. The Kop had gaps yes, maybe some went on the BLUT. Who knows. I've seen 20k bandied about which is a joke.

Boring?![]()
Boring and mediocre then. A fair judgement on the rag from within the inner sanctum.
*from the tea boy![]()
I can see you'll be here all night so I'll leave it to you.
Grey hairs?I'm getting a few grey hairs and spend a lot of time there, but I'm certainly not on the payroll![]()
I know of my son and 2 of my mates that have season tickets on the kop and didn't come. There were a lot of empty seats on the Kop, even centrally. The Westfield Corner was nowhere near full. The rest of the BLUT certainly wasn't full. Small away following. I struggle to believe it was above 22k.
Er........ should we put this post to bed? A lot of obsessing about who does and doesn't come through the gates and how they're counted isn't really what Blades have tended to be about. It doesn't matter that much. For what it's worth, I think whether it's 20k, 22k, or a "sellout" (which is never one anyway), crowds over many years of underachievement and crap football actually appeared to grow, if my ageing memory serves me right, from an average 16 to 18k pre and during Warnock's early times, to what we have now. Just enjoy what we have (we were very unlucky on Friday, and I was very angry!) on the pitch rather than what we have or don't have in the stands.I know of my son and 2 of my mates that have season tickets on the kop and didn't come.
My son lives in hull and can't get home after mid week games as he doesn't drive, one mate was ill and the other baby sitting as his Mrs was out on her works do.

The attendance is given as the number of tickets allocated (i.e. sold), regardless of physical attendance.
All football clubs do this, we were one of the last to do so to my knowledge.
I thought Foxy put it to bed in #25 with this post:
I am a season ticket holder (with an allocated seat) and didn't go, so I was counted in the attendance figures.
Yes I believe so.So in theory if I snuffed it now I’d be counted in the attendances for remaining games this season?

no matter what anyonethinks attendances given are exact , they are click counted on turnstyle entry , and are there for safety reasons so emergency services dont look for imaginary missing supporters in case of a tragedy
Made up fact?
How would they know how many to 'look for', unless they ticked everybody off coming out of all the exits at the same time?
Plenty of clubs have stated that they count all ticket holders as turning up. Arsenal often state they have 60k, when the stadium is obviously only three quarters full.
That's absolutely disgraceful!!!!I thought Foxy put it to bed in #25 with this post:
