Who's going ?. Does anyone no how many tickets we've sold ?. Where are we drinking pre match ?. Lets see if we can make it 3 defeats in a row.

Official site said yesterday that there were 100 tickets left. Not sure how many we were given to start with, but expect plenty of Blades in their end.

Ooh I'm going but haven't got a ticket. I'll just go in their end if there's none left.

How can you pay on the day if it's sold out ?.

As per Wikipedia;

Don Valley Stadium is notable as being the largest athletics stadium in the UK, with a seated capacity of 25,000.

I don't think they will open all the seating areas though unless we sign Ronaldinho and thousands turn up.

Just got back from DVS. First half, as bad as anything seen since the old King was still alive. There was no discernable pattern to the play at all. Rotherham were nearly as bad, but looked marginally more lively and only a goal line clearance by Matty Lowton saved us after about half an hour. Then there was a bit of excitement. The A Block Massive realising that the stewarding was a bit overwhelmed, stormed the hill behind the goal. It will be a lot more exciting in 20 years time I suppose but was just kids pissing about (Whats got 200 legs and no pubic hair? SUFC Singing Section...).

Despite the warnings about the trialists going back on Friday Logan played at right-back and looked decent, comfortable on the ball and tidy. And that was half time. Second half saw some significant changes with Britton, Gilbert and Vignal, coming on. Immediately we looked to have the outlet in midfield we needed and we started to take control. Then we brought on Chappell and Nat Foster, as we suddenly looked like a side. movement, passing, pulling Rotherham apart and first the goal came, a deep cross with a good header from Ertl. Then Boggy started to look the part as confidence grew. He did well with the penalty. I could barely see Vignal at the far corner of the pitch, but he seemed to do OK. Gilbert looked the real deal. Hopefully we'll see at least one of these putting pen to paper next week.

BUT, the real story here are the kids. We appear to have a golden crop. Lowton, no doubt. Chappell and James close. Nat Foster, promising but maybe not this season. These lads are all good on the ball, all reasonably quick, all look for a pass. So they are the most exciting part of the day for me. We will be ready by Cardiff. We will be organised and competitive, but that excitement at seeing the two Kyles making their debuts and thrilling us all is not far away with these other young lads...

I agree with most of that Dunc. Although I didn't think Lowton was upto much, didn't do much wrong per se but neither did he make anything happen - just steady.

Was extremely impressed with Chappel. He looks the spitting image of Wardy and looks to be very skillful. He certainly added another dimension to our play and I reckon we might see a bit of him this season.

Why do we have a centre back playing at number 7. Looks wrong!
Who was that right back? Logan? Would be better with Gabby Logan. Surely we should have decided by now who will be right back, two weeks before the season. Is it Kozzie?
Why did we bring on a useles John Francis lookalike in the second half?
Why did we need a police helicopter? Because a few kids were stood on a grass verge?
Their number 5 did alright, should be a good signing for them. (Cresswell.)

What position did Ertl play?

Played in midfield with Monty. Monty was the usual Monty, and Ertl looked decent, but in a 4-4-2 they are a midfield pairing made in the Devils own shed. It all came right when Britton came on, and when Chappell was brought on in (what looked like a 4-2-3-1, but difficult to tell from my view) it got much better...

1. Centre back at #7 is ridiculous and I hope it won't be a long term thing.
2. Shaleum Logan played right back. Steady but not special. Thought Kerrea Gilbert was more assured second half.
3. The useless 'John Francis look-a-like' is Nathan Foster from the Academy and he is only 18. Looks raw, needs a lot of work still but I've heard good things about him.
4. Police helicopter was totally not needed. The stewards made it worse for themselves.
5. Agree re: Cresswell for t'Millers. Good deal for them.

Think you are being a tad harsh on Lowton Wardy. A few crisp passes, strong tackles and one very brave goal line clearance. Thought he was excellent.

Jordan Chappell seems to be getting a bit of praise this pre season. Would have been great to have a young winger challenging for a first team place.

I really liked the look of him yesterday. He plays a lot like Yeates in that he's got the mindset to be selfish on the ball and will look to beat his man rather than cross early.
