We are officially in August, meaning football is back!

With the football league kicking off tomorrow, I thought we could look at what the league tables may look like, and then look back on our predictions and laugh at how wrong we all were.

I'm out of touch with L1 and L2, and I know predicting a whole league table is a bit ridiculous, but it's just a bit of fun (and I've had a look and can't find a thread on this already, so apologies if there is one!)

So, here's my predictions:

In my annual pre-season accumulator and Heinz bet, I've gone for

Liverpool to win the league
Leeds for Championship
Peterborough for Lg1
Plymouth for Lg2
Celtic for the SPL

and for the blades to stay up

Surely the bookies won't accept that as a Heinz as the Blades and Liverpool are in same league?

Helder Costa is a great signing, kept Jack Clarke, I think they play really good football.

I know they are perennial bottlers, but they do have a good side.

But I've been very wrong before, and I'd be happy to be wrong again!

I'll do my detailed Prem predictions early next week

Agree Deadbat,

Still a few clubs planning on doing more transfer business over the next few days.
Once we know everyone’s squads, then we can make a more accurate prediction.

Costa should be a good signing granted. However, selling Jansson and replacing him with a loanee from Brighton doesn't look good on paper when they were a mess at the back towards the end of the season.

Betfred took the bet yesterday

Won't let me. It won't offer a 6-fold and therefore won't offer a Heinz bet. That's because i've got United and Liverpool in the same league.

If I take United out and put in a conference team for example you then get the options for an Acca, Lucky 63 and Heinz all added:

5888758888

If you did it in the shop, they've fucked up and your bet could end up being void. I would go check because you're not allowed to bet on two outrights in the same league... Liverpool & Blades for example doesn't even come up as a double, only two singles:
