Ryan Flynn, by some distance, our best outfield player this season? I agree that he's improved a lot under Clough, more than I thought he would, but that's a bit surprising. In the televised game at Preston in March Flynn looked jaded, was bullied by a strong, aggressive full back and hardly got a kick, though his average rating was ok at 6,35. He worked hard defensively as always, but for a wide man to merit a good score I think we should expect more. He's come in for some criticism in the past, but has this made fans become too nice/lenient when he's not at his best?

Maybe it's revealing a level of consistency, particularly early on in the season when the likes of Murphy would have received some shocking marks in some games.

All of our attacking players were jaded and on the back foot in that match, yet I bet most scored about 6/10. It's a product of the result being a hard fought draw.

I really doubt Flynn attracts leniency. In the past it was the opposite, and see no reason for a complete about turn.

Without perusing the stats for too long, I agree with ZoneManWilf . A number players will have had some shocking marks in early season. Flynn must have escaped these either by grafting or not playing. Note Howard didn't play and retains a high average whereas Maguire and Murphy (my players of the season) had a few horror shows in that time.

Flynn's good spell began in December and ended around the time our winning run did. He's not completely back to his 2011-13 never going round a full back heyday, but he did fall off a bit towards the end of the season.

I was torn when I heard about his new deal: if we get the Flynn we saw in December to March, great. If not....

I think the 5 points maybe correct but not the stats. Wrong way round,
Weir was 'in charge' for ten games. We won one (first game against 10-man Notts County & with McDonald) and drew two (Colchester & Crawley). His illustrious record also included being dumped out of the Capital One Cup. To Burton. At home.

Only 94 goals in our league games this season, 98 the previous season. Not seeing too many goals are we, recently?
