2 shit slow midfielders

Wilder was happy that we had loaded up the midfield in the window, so whatever their individual shortcomings we may as well try sticking a few of them in the 11 and at least try to be solid.

I would go 3-5-2 until Seriki is fit.

----------------Tanganga - Baptiste - Kitchin----------------

Donovan-----Blaster---Philips or Jairo----Peck----RND

-----------------------Bamford----BBD--------------------------

Once Seriki is back I would revert to a back 4, so that we at least have a functioning RB. Choudury has been dreadful in his 2 matches so far.

Comparing Choudhury with Souza is a good one 😁
I did say more of not exactly like there is a difference it was not a direct comparison. If you remember when they were both in midfield at the same time last time Choudhury was here they were too much alike in their play style and it didnt work. IMHO.

Thats his job is it not?

He's had a full pre season to put a philosophy in place on how he wants us to be and set up. Thats what pre season is for!

How is he saying his team doesnt have an identity 5 games in? The follow up question what danny hall should be asking after that answer is why? When you've had all pre season you have not nailed down a plan for the way you want to play & be set up this season.

Its absolutely sunday league levels.

Im genuinely gobsmacked at the tactics and style hes got us set up as with the squad hes allowed us to close the trasnfer window with. This has to be the worst wilder version we've had.

I've rarely seen a team collectively accept a defeat so early. Even at only one behind at the start of the second half they looked done.
We did the same in the last 2 Premier League seasons - zero belief we could actually turn a game back in our favour & zero tactical tweaks to change it from the bench.

Ah but the owners are responsible for that as well I guess.

Obviously Danny won't quiz his mate as to why. Wilder complained last season that the lack of pre-season under him was the reason we tailed off after our purple patch.

‘Over, round or through’ has become ‘give it to the LB and he’ll whack it well far forward’

No he wont ask the question to risk not bring on his Xmas card list and invites to the pub, so he shouldn't be doing this type of job.

If the rosen is to be believed, who has told him this group of players are more than capable of top 6/8 finish?

The identity crisis is wholly on CW. Hes an opportunity to establish one with this group & opted to plsy 442 and boot it long some great forward thinking management.

The midfielders are just all so similar. I can’t see them scoring 5 between them all season.

They aren’t particularly great at defending, not great at attacking, tidy footballers but just ineffective without creativity around them
They’re all good at triangles.

We have no tactics bar whack it from the full back forward. The midfield is non existent at worst, ineffective at best.

Is this really what people are paying to see? I haven't got a choice, I've paid for a ST.

Making the base of your whole formation is certainly a choice.

No wonder the defence are constantly exposed.

Whose tactical decision is that?
We've been overrrun in every game this season by playing it and it continues now with 2 strikers rather than just an AM and a Striker.

It's certainly a choice. Not a good one, but a choice.

Love to hear the explanation behind it.
It’s been the same since the 90 point season. We always get overrun in midfield, just that now we don’t have better quality players than 80% of the league.

Players are tired 5 games into the season with an international break around the corner.

The owners might be mugging us off a bit but so is Wilder.

Also, did we notice how knackered Norwich and Bolton were as well? They were really feeling the pace of the season already.

Losing O’Hare was an unexpected outcome so late. I get this.

But then we only had one number 10 anyway and it was obvious Gus would be off. So what would happen if Cal was injured or tired? Figure it out later?

We’re playing 4-4-2 because we’re hoping against hope that Cannon can justify his selection again. We should have bet over backward to sell Cannon for Stoke’s 5m and a bit. We may even have kept O’Hare. Notwithstanding that o’Hare was a bit help to the midfield and as neither Cannon nor Campbell drop deep to help out that puts more pressure on the midfield two which does the same then to the defence.

I like Chris but he’s been a slower learner these past two games. 30 shots conceded playing 4-4-2 at Cardiff. Outplayed most of the second half against Bolton. So did we really need a negative result against Norwich to acknowledge it doesn’t work for this team?

4-3-3 and if you need to go two two up top you fashion a 5-3-2. Otherwise 4-4-2 for last minute chasing when you know your midfield could be exposed. It don’t have it exposed from kick off.

He had a choice when Cal left and he lost the 4-2-3-1; go solid to 4-3-3 or go more open to 4-4-2. He chose the wrong one. Don’t be pig headed and stick with it.

That's the first proper crap game I have seen from Jairo.

Depends what your definition of crap is really. I never got him, think he's slow of thought and deed, is constantly looking sideways, offers no protection to the back four and today showed that he's added lazy and knackered after 15 minutes to his repertoire because he was fucking diabolical.

And Danny had the audacity to question why the owners didn’t want to be interviewed by him 🙃.

I've got Wilder fatigue personally.

Boring football by largely boring players, no structure, a chronic lack of pace, out muscled too often, predictable boring recruitment, unbalanced squad, despite prolonged fitness issues continuing to sign players with fitness issues.

Kitching, Doherty, Choudhury, Riedewald, Philips, Donovan, BBD.

And we're reliant on a 19 year old kid showing up every week.

That’s what I find so so pathetic tbh - tired players , goodness sake , season is 5 league games old - what a really lame , shite excuse

You know if he hadn’t had a pre season with them then I may give him some slack on this which he was duly given last season. We have 27 players, those who he signed recently all had a pre season with their clubs.

Like I say these excuses don’t wash, he’s got a smaller budget which he knew about prior to this season. He knew last season that this years pre season was important to get the fitness right. Yet once again we have the same faces gassed after 50 minutes.

Throw in the fact a ball has barely been kicked and we have several injuries already.
