Which 2 players would you like to see united buy to increase our chances of going up. Am going for Jermaine Beckford and Michael Brown

Beckford because i still think we need a clinical striker

Brown i would love to see him back think we don't get enough goals form midfield

I realise we can't buy now just wondered what you think were missing.

Well "realistically" (and I'm assuming we are in this division next season) in the summer my top 2 would be Tony Kallio and Peter Halmosi.

Others I'd like to sign are Matt Mills (Reading), Hermann Hriedarrsson (Pompey), Chris Taylor (Oldham) and Paul Green (Derby).

If its this season, Kyle Walker back please!!! :-)

Ambrose and Butterfield from Palace. We need a right back and footballer.

Easy this management lark. :)

Brown doesn't score goals from midfield, hasn't done since he left us a long time ago.

Beckford scores a lot of goals.... in the 3rd Division. A poor man's Henri Camara.

Realistically, the players I would like to have around are Kyle Walker, Chris Morgan & Gary Naysmith, with a fully fit Lee Williamson, and Paddy Kenny in goal.

Have you seen Kallio ? I think Andy Taylor is and will be better.

Don't worry, I think we've got enough points on the board to avoid relegation so I think it's a safe bet we'll be in this division next season.

As for player's I'd buy... One's that should be realistic but probably aren't given our ambition, I'd probably say Earnshaw and Halford

But as we're talking about proper realistic, I'd go Adam LeFondre from Rotherham in the hope that he's another Jamie Ward, and either Becchio or Snodgrass from Leeds (providing they balls it up on the way that only them and us can).

gareth ainsworth, just so i could call him a wanker every week!!

And Shaun Derry, the twat.

Not really sure who I'd buy to be honest, Michael Brown certainly wouldn't be on the list though!!

EDIT : I've thought about it, Earnshaw is one!!!

Good question OP!

I'd go with Kris Commons (he was on-fire for Derby against us recently) despite his inconsistency as on his day, he can rip teams apart.

And ... a left back. Maybe Callum Davidson or the young lad at Scunthorpe, Marcus Williams?

andy lonergon, even though he would cost us a fair bit of money, and also nyron nosworthy on a full transfer, he looks to be a good player

Like Latters I'd like us to take a gamble on Adam LaFondre too and I wouldn't mind Ambrose from Palace too.

I think butterfield is a good shout and should be able to get him on the cheap.
Bradley johnson wouldnt be a bad bet from leeds too. No way snodgrass would come here, he will be off to the premiership in the summer I bet.
I would love to see brown back at the lane but think his wage demands would be too substancial. I think he may be a free agent in the summer I reckon because portsmouth wont be able to afford him, especially in the championship

Depends if you are talking the original Kallio or the impostor that Fulham have sent us back :).

He looked a totally different player before he went back.

So I've heard ,got to admit I didn't see him first time but this time he has been hopeless. I actually think Taylor will become a player.
Regarding the other poster re - Camp ,same as Kallio the other night he looked useless.

Realistically?
I wouldn't give blackwell another penny. I'd get any money we have in this 'realistic' budget and use it to pay the compensation Doncaster would require for Sean O'Driscoll

Don't know if these are classed as realistic but

Bellamy
Smith

Now they would add to our midfield and get the fans on the edge of our seats.

I think we need defensive cover and a goalscorer, both easier said then done.

With the current financial situation i would guess this would mean taking a chance on someone from a lower division. Adam La Fondre might be worth a gamble and i thought Seip played well with Morgs before his injury so might be someone to look at.

 If we're going for realistic signings..............

George Boyd and Adam Le Fondre

Jason Demetriou (Leyton Orient) 22 year old can play across the midfield but mainly as a winger. Already a full Cyprus international, can play football in the right way and has so much potential and would cost about 600k max.

Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield) 20 year old striker. Scoring for fun in League One only problem is, I think he'd cost between £1-2million and we are never going to pay that.

I'd like Billy Sharp to be back here, if we have a different manager who sees Billy as his type of player.

Adam Lallana (Southampton) and Craig Dawson (Rochdale) are the pick of the crop of youngsters kicking about the lower divisions and exactly the sort of player we should be picking up.

Ricky Lambert (Southampton)
Darren Ambrose (Palace)

Good shouts on Jordan Rhodes, but unfortunately Huddersfield are going places and won't sell cheap.

Other teams I would be looking to raid are the likes of Bristol Rovers. They have to sell to survive and have some cracking players. I shiver thinking about the players they have sold in the past to balance the books.

Marcus Stewart
Gary Mabbut (for those old enough to remember)
Ricky Lambert (see above)
Jamie Cureton
Barry Hayles
Jason Roberts
Nathan Ellington

This is all from a piss squirty little club with no money.

I'll name a few...

Darren Ambrose.
Brian Stock.
Richard Snodgrass.
Clarke Carlisle.
Billy Sharp.

If we have those next season, promotion is soon U-NIT-ED!

----------------Kenny----------------

--Geary - Morgan - Carlisle - Naysmith---

Stock - Ambrose - Williamson - Snodgrass

---------Ward - Evans/Sharp------------

could do with a RB aswell.

Ooh i forgot Boyd from Pboro. He's good

Forget about good quality young footballers until Blackwell is a million miles away from BDTBL.

We need a commanding centre back - Matt Mills perhaps.

The other is a player who could transform our style: Brian Stock.

Even more important: Steve Coppell as manager.
