Doubt it will be Cannon as he was in a video getting on the plane to Germany with the rest of our squad yesterday

No sign of Souttar in the video though and he also wasn’t in the 23 man squad used in a friendly on Friday

Probably have to stow Souttar in the hold

Yep, that's the one. Have you seen him play in a 4?
Have you?
Can you explain the positional differences and duties required to play in a 4, other than a 3/5, and what other players he may play alongside to cover any deficiencies he may have or not have, as the case may be. Some of those players are probably not at the club yet.
For clarity, I work in the building trade so I am massivley under qualfied to call out a player tactically on a public forum, plus I am not yet clairvoyant so I do not know the makeup of our back 5 that will play most of the season.

were not playing a back 5 this season robbo is best in a back 3 with 2 other centre backs

Yep, no problem - he will be badly exposed in a 4 with less cover due to his lack of pace and mobility. He is also not comfortable with the ball at his feet, resulting in loss of forward momentum due to sideways and backwards passes, plus increased loss of possession. He is a ball-winner and a good one at that but that isn't enough these days, especially when up against pacey, mobile strikers.

Are there others like me who have actually never heard of the majority of players were linked with never mind thier individual attributes.
I may be a minority but get so tunnel visioned watching the blades players performances i take hardly any notice of our opponents never mind those in other divisions .
Hats off to those on here who have the level knowledge that's beyond me .
I think most people on here just read things and make their minds up based on that. I’ve got a mate who has a Chelsea season ticket and asked him about Gilchrist and how well he’d do in the Championship and he said he hasn’t seen enough to properly give a verdict. The line was “did well enough, hard to say much more”. My other mates who are Chelsea fans but not STHs offered even less. Some of the excitement around here about potentially signing him either suggests we have a number of people watching footage of Chelsea reserves, or it’s just a classic Ben Woodburn style “seems to be highly regarded by XX big club, must be good” type thinking. I’m not bothered as you need people with views and it’s good to read stuff, but find it quite funny when fans agonise over missing out on a player last week they’d never even heard of.

A back 4 in the Championship is not like a back 4 in the Premier League. Huh, you say. Last season we faced some of the best players in the world, our back 4, when we did play it, looked awful. This season we will not face anything close to best in the world, our back 4 ,when we play it, should deal with most teams easily. Plus, we actually have a good midfield to help on defense unlike last year when we looked poor at best.

possibly but i think wilder has made his mind up to play 4 at the back with 2 pivots in front of them and actually of the 2 think trusty would be more at home playing that system
I was largely disappointed with Trusty last season but two Brum fans I know absolutely loved him two seasons ago, where I believe he largely played LCB in a four.

I hope we're going to be more fluid with how we set up than in the past. We seem to be assembling a team that could play in 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3, or 3-5-2. We've been missing that dynamism to be able to change shape to impact games for years.

He played on the left side of a back 3 with Birmingham.

Going to put an aka minster on him

Underlaying problem with fitting carpet puns in, in fact, bit of a vacuum.

Sorry, don't agree with most of that.
It reads like a scouting report from an U9's manger who has volunteered to run his lads team and has been on the FA level 1 course because Crosspool Juniors were paying, but really prefers Ice Hockey.
Sides are rarely fixed in a rigid 5 unless defending their own box are they? JLT is just as likely to get exposed 1v1 with a long ball over the top or in the channel regardless of formation. Key for me is having pace from the left full back if we went with a 4.
It is totally acceptable for one of our centre halfs to be conservative with their passing.
At the level we are at he's good enough with the ball at his feet, he had a good season in this regard the year we went up with his rebirth.
To repeat - good season when last in Champ, last years POY.
I'm boring even misen now, apologies.
Got to lock site up f'tnight.
