NA: We've played some top sides, but hey, we're always pushing forward, we're looking at the attitudes of players and we're looking to progress from 2 to perhaps 3 goals over the next 9 games, so its an additional goal
AG: but Nigel its not really an improvement
NA: Its 3 goals, you've just said we've scored 2.
AG: Yes, but that's in 6 games, now you're looking to increase to 3 in 9.. Its not an increase
NA: Its more goals. Listen, Sheffield United Football club is a big club. We're all in this together from the Chairman, to the academy. We know that we want promotion and thats what we're looking towards. When we look ahead, we see promotion, thats on the horizon. The target if you like. That's where we want to be. Promotion contenders. Goals help towards that.
AG: but its not more goals per game is it?
NA: Listen, when i came here we didn't have Billy Sharp, he's a goal scorer. We went out and got him, as a football club and he came here to score goals. He's got a great attitude, hes a winner, not a quitter, he's got the right attitude. What we want is promotion. We're still in there fighting for that. That's what we all want. We've changed things around a bit, brought in some leaders, so athletes and we're doing this for the benefit of Sheffield United Football Club

Cast your mind back to the last few seasons, since the fateful day that Ched get convicted we’ve struggled up front. In that season we averaged 2 goals per game. In the 4 seasons since, we’ve averaged less than 1.3 goals per game.

For some context, this season has been far from the worst, the Weir/ Clough season we managed just 48 goals that season. This season we have already managed 47.
