Which 2 would you honestly go with tonight? Would you put collins in there and risk it? Keep it with Brayford and McEveley ? Put Basham in or put him back in midfield.

I think this will be the pairing most look for when they first see the teams.

Alcock and McEveley.

Means JB at right back, Flynn right wing. Basham in centre mid.

Alcock/McEveley can be no worse that the 124 other combinations we have tried.

I would be very surprised if we saw Collins in a Blades shirt again so there's no point asking the question (watch him start tonight now I have said that). I think it will be Basham and McEveley in the middle with Brayford and Harris full backs. This seems to be his first choice back four when all are available......

I would play a back 4 of;

Brayford Collins Basham Harris

Basham at Centre Half has been awesome in the big cup games and I would trust him there more than anyone else. What he needs however is someone alongside him who knows the position, can plug the gaps and allow him to move forward when required....not a full-back playing out of position, (Brayford, Alcock, McEveley) If ever there was a time for round pegs in round holes it's now, Clough should swallow his pride and give Collins the shirt................but I suspect he wont.

I'm not happy with it, but would go with Brayford and McEveley, with Basham in the centre of the park with Coutts and Holt. It shows how desperate we are at centre half that we essentially have full backs in the middle. The alternative is Bash at the back and Doyle in midfield, but I think we'd be overrun.

Don't mind Freeman at right back, but would be tempted to go with Flynn at right back and Freeman in front of him.

I have absolutely no idea and suspect Clough knows it's a gamble whichever direction he decides to jump.

Collins without a doubt, took a couple of games at Vale to settle in but formed solid defensive partnership and MoM in couple of games, and he can score from a corner, won't happen though!

After Freeman's shocker on Sunday I would play:
Brayford Basham McEveley Harris
Basham and McEvely have been the closest we've come to a centre half pairing this season. Brayford has been nothing more than okay at centre half lets try and get our moneys worth by playing him where he's best.

Brayford and Bash for me. Not ideal, but they're the most solid pairing I think.

Can always mix it up if need be, with JMac on, and Brayford on the wing if we need a goal.

It's a dilemma either way. Without Basham in CM we'll get dominated by Swindon's 5, but putting him in there severely weakens defence.

Wonderful forward planning NOT, but the subject has been done to death.

Got to have Bash in midfield. Freeman, Bray. McEv and Bobby H behind him and Flynny, Coutts, Scoogs and Murph with him. Big D up front with Mcnuts for last 30 mins.

Fuck the centre halves.

we need to dominate midfield - Basham/Coutts/Doyle - same as Bristol away.

....but on reflection, Collins (swallow your pride Nigel) and Mceverly.

Collins may have his issues with Clough but he WONT let the fans down.

We win or lose this semi in midfield ( lessons learnt from the recent Chesterfield match ) . Basham midfield for me .height , aggression and control is needed.

Swindon know our plan A. Plan B - shove Collins in but cannot see it .

Baxter bench or don't pick him.
