Is it the case that we've got Coventry and Derby, Saturday and Tuesday, followed by the SCD on Friday night? Preparation not good. :(

Please someone tell me there's been some fixture shifties.

Sorry TA, unfotunately that is the case, so we have exactly two days off between matches :(

the only potential advantage we have is that we have Derby and Coventry and Wendy have Forrest and Boro :)

Really can't wait for this, quite apprehensive about it all to be honest. I hope we can keep things going and just batter the Piggies. Scrappy 1-0 will do it for me :D

i'm shitting bricks about it - Wednesday have been scoring for fun this year and despite another clean sheet at Derby, i still dont feel our defense has gelled enough yet. Wednesday have had extremely pacey wingers and forwards for the last couple of seasons who've run us ragged...

Also...somewhat importantly - they're the underdogs...so they're playing with less pressure.

Finally - i still don't believe that Blackwell can inspire our guys for the big games...which is why i think (i hate to say i realy do!) that we'll lose... :(

Reading the website, there's not many left in all areas of the ground except the upper tier, which they've only just started selling today.

Anyone care to stick their necks on the line and make a public prediction?

Nope.

We could be in for goals with both sides losing key players in their defense.

I think we look the more dangerous of the 2 teams going forward but Luke Nailvarnish is on form for Wendy.

Lineup Prediction:

Bunn
Walker Morgan Fortune Stewart
Ward Montgomery Harper Treacy
Henderson Evans

Subs: Bennett, France, Cotterill, Reid, Quinn, Little

Will be 2-1 Blades. Harper and Ward getting the goals. TudGAY for them

Yep, instead of the usual 0-0 or 1-1 draw that Id normally predict for this game Im predicting 3-1 Blades, Hendo, Harper and Evans for us. For some reason I still feel confident about this one even after losing to Coventry. I've felt very aprehensive about the Derbys since relegation but my confidence has come back now. Oh and I think Killas going to start too.

COYRAWW!!!!!!!

Early team news.......

Kilgallon (chest infection) unlikely to face Sheff Wed so Walker could play in middle.
Taylor (back) remains doubtful so Stewart stands by.

:)

I always think we'll lose these sorts of games. Somehow, preparing for the worst softens the blow a bit when it happens.

I dread going to Sheffield derbies and never really enjoy them because I feel so tense. But it's soemthing that just has to be done.

I forecast defeat, but have no idea of the margin.

I feel more confident than last year - to be quite honest Barlow Kingston Rovers would have beaten us at the time of season we met the Piggies last year. We knew the defeat was coming before a ball was kicked. This year - even with the possible missing players - we feel stronger.

Reckon it'll be tight - the optimist in me says a one goal win, the experienced old hack part says a draw.

I think we'll lose. I always find it easier thinking that way going into games like this one!

But, after each pint I have tomorrow my confidence will grow, so by the time we kick off I'll be predicting a 16-0 win!

You can't drink 16 pints so....

Is a goal worth.....say 1/8 of a pint??

:p

Last season I couldn't even face listening to the radio, never mind actually going to the game. When we played at Hillsborough I took my kid for a long walk and got home just after full time. The Bramall Lane game was even more unbearable, although I'm glad that I have never seen Gaytud's winner.

This season I have a ticket and have been looking forward to it all week. I was thinking which key player would miss it before the Derby County match because it was bound to happen. I survived Wembley, I'll survive this.

Can't see anything but a defeat tonight. The makeshift defence will make a couple of howlers and a goal out of nowhere will compound our misery we might crab a goal to give us a brief bit of painful hope when we are already 2 down, So 3-1 to the piggies. I have absolutely no confidence that Blackwell knows how to send out a winning team for any crunch match.

note from Las Vegas: WOOT!

That's the way to do it, lads!

care to reassess this after the fact?

The game was magnificient, I thought. Ok, we may not have played that well in all fairness, but we actually showed some backbone for once, and managed to prevent them to come back to win, or even pinch a point. I must admit, though, I thought we were going to bottle it. Especially when Esajas' free kick went in...

Oh well, a win's a win. But a win over the pigs is even better :D

Up the Blades!

I'm a piss poor pundit and I don't give a flying feck!! hic

Pre mtach was shitting bricks. Only at 3-0, having shredded them in every department in the first half was i feeling confident...then they put Esijas (sp?) on....well...there were two significant turning points in the game i should say; 1) Wardy being injured was a blow as he was terrifying them - also, his replacement; Cotts...is shit and can't defend...so when this was compounded with Esijas coming on for them...poor cotts got torched EVERY time....he was terrifying!!

The "perfect" game of two halves....couldn't understand the filth on PoG after the game saying "they were really happy cause we played united off the park"....were thay not watching the first half???

Tings to learn from last night:
1) Wednesday will ALWAYS have a black guy that WILL cause us SO much pain....(last year it was Sodje!)
2) Cotts really is THAT piss poor in defence
3) Andy Davis is quite an astute loan signing...
