For a team higher in the table ;)

Shouldn't that mean he's surrounded by better performing players, making it easier for him to score?

Thats correct, it should make it easier for Billy Sharp to score.......

The sending off,

Watching it at the game, it didn't look a sending off and after watching it and going in slow motion, still not a sending off.

He won the ball before he took the man. His outstretched leg pokes the ball away before his trailing leg taking him down. The coventry player hasn't even got the ball under control so its a fair challenge.

Unfortunately this is a common misconception. It makes no difference if he won the ball or not, The red card should be issued on a tackle that the referee deems to be using excessive force. SJH used excessive force at the very least, and therefore the referee had no choice. IMO it was the only decision that the ref got right all night. SJH had made his bed before that tackle anyway, simply by constantly complaining to the referee about what was going on between himself and mifsud

so the shoulder barge by there player deserves a red card too for use of force? :)

Where do you draw the line?

SJH won the ball before he touched the man so is a fair tackle IMO regardless off how far he has slid with the force behind him etc.

If your going in for a tackle put your foot through it and your body, otherwise you get hurt.

If you're on about the incident near the Kop, and by the John Street stand in the first half, a shoulder barge is fair (and the referee signalled that it was a shoulder barge in his opinion). It may well have been 'professional', but it was legal.

Sunny had his arms all round Mifsud's shoulders and was clearly impeding him from outside the box, and though it pains me to say it, it was an absolutely correct decision, I reckon.

If the referee defines it as a wreckless challenge (as I did) then he should be sent off.

Had another player done it to one of our team, the crowd would be baying for blood.

Not the shoulder barge, thats a shoulder to shoulder, I mean the one where one of there players, think it was the black one at the back, just put his shoulder in to the middle of the back of our player, no shoulder to shoulder. Now that was excessive force so should he have walked?

I wouldn't have been baying for blood robbie, he won the ball before he took the man. He didn't have it under control so fair game. Their player rolled over, looked at ref steaming over and carried on. Was a fair tackle IMO and SJH shouldn't be punished for it.

SJH has been poor last 2 games so maybe the ban will be good for him!

I wouldn't say SJH was poor against Derby.

And to Samantha:

SJH didn't "realise" what he'd done when he turned away. I'm sat off to the right to where the challenge was and only three rows back. SJH turned laughing as if saying "Can't believe the way Misfud is acting". When he cleanly got the ball.

And to the people who said they'd fine him for his "hissy fit". If you'd made a tackle where you won the ball then got sent off, I think you'd act in the same way.
