On the no. 10. Peski won off the back of THAT goal, with healthy votes for Webber and Devlin , leaving the dream squad thus:

1. Paddy Kenny
2. Matt Lowton
3. Wayne Quinn
4. Nick Montgomery
5. Chris Morgan
6. Phil Jagielka
7. Michael Brown
8. Stuart McCall
9. James Beattie
10. Paul Peschisolido

On the no.9 run off for the nightmare squad, James Thomas narrowly beat the permatanned one leaving that squad thus

1. Steve Simonsen
2. Daryl Westlake
3. Gary Flitcroft
4. Danny Higginbotham
5. Rob Kozluk
6. Nyron Nosworthy
7. Nathaniel Mendez-Laing
8. Anthony Stokes
9. James Thomas

We need another run off for the no.10. on the nightmare side, Hayles, Cadamarteri, Bogdanovic and Taylor all got no votes. That run off is elsewhere.

Time for the no.11's. My designated nightmare candidate here is Ten Huevel . Anyone voting for him will have their votes disallowed unless they post a reasoned justification in the thread.

Ten Heuvel: no. 22 Aug-Sept 2003
Kabba: no.34 02-03, n0.15 03-04, no.19 04-05
Hendrie: no.17 Aug 09
Cotterill: no.12 Feb-May 08, no. 4 08-09
Flynn: no. 7 since 2012
MacDonald: n0.27 11-12

Wow, not a great list that for a number 11 shirt! Lester, Kabba or macD. KM's best was in the no 27 shirt, so i think that's him out. When were Kabba's best days?

Kabba played a huge part in our start to the promotion season - I don't think we would have got promoted without him. He gets my vote.

Yeah he got mine too. Although his most prolific stuff was before that (i think).

I wonder who the first player in twice will be.

Think K Mac will win the No. 27. Ndlovu No. 16. Tonge 18. Quinn 28. We've had some great players that have never worn a "1-11" shirt

Not much choice there! Think it'll have to be Kabba. This is pretty much just the 'Cup Run Season' team.

Did anyone else think his goal against Forest was similar to Gazza/Euro 96? The only difference being if anything Kabba's was a more difficult shot because the Forest defender didn't do a Hendry and fall on his backside!

Kabba. More because the rest of the competition is crap. Kabba did make a significant contribution in 05/06 though. He was electric in the 1st half of the season. He formed a great partnership with HMS Shipps and the combination of the battering ram and speed tore many defences apart. He never produced the same form after injury (and wasn't there some issue with him being unprofessional and rambling anbout a new contract in an interview?) but he was instrumental in the first half of the promotion season.

Lester is the only other person I considered. I rated Lester. A solid 2nd tier striker. Great at winning pens, good at taking them, decent in the air and a good finisher. I thought he did well for us. However he had limited impact overall.

Lester for me.

Mainly for doing it for an entire season he had the No. 11 shirt, whereas Kabba went seriously off the boil in the second half of 05-06 (and missed an absolurte sitter in our home game against Reading).

Kabba would surely also be a shoe in for the no 34 shirt.

And I went to school with Lester (just like cooperblade)

Video is here Kabba's goal is at 3:15. The Peschi "moment is 4:30. But the little lad crying at 2:35 stands the hairs up on my neck just as much as Peschi. -

I nearly voted for Baxter on pure potential. Had he had a full season with us already he might have got it.

Went for Kabba

I'm almost certainly on my own here, but I've gone for Bobby Ford, just ahead of Kabba. I always found Ford to be one of the most selfless players I've seen in a Blades shirt. He personifies the early Warnock years for me - building up a team on its knees to becoming a cohesive unit capable beating anyone on its day. This is a very specific praise - but he's the best midfielder I've ever seen for covering fullbacks who get out of position. Also, although he was 'Mr Sideways', he very rarely gave the ball away. Tidy penalty taker too, and had the bottle to take one against the Pigs at the Kop end.
