I was confident we would beat Birmingham, fully expected us to win away at Swansea, thought the West Brom game would be tougher , but with the Brazillian not playing expected a draw, was thinking we would be watching exciting forward looking football, just shows i know fk all about football, what were most of you expecting

I expected a slow start and maybe 1 win from the first 3 or 4 games, but for the football to be better.

If we get it together in the next game, I'll feel a bit better about things.

Whats more worrying for me is Birmingham and Swansea are proving to be as much relegation fodder as we are and we struggled against both. Birmingham had the luxury of getting the new manager in before the end of their season giving them a good start, unfortunately we didn’t

I think he has seen our problems and so far has probably rectified one of them. Give him another 10 days to see how many more he can sort and then judge in February whether two windows have been successful

I'm not surprised at what has happened per se. Last season we played fucking awful, and were beaten and relegated early in the season without much response. The Everton game was possibly the only bright spot where we looked anywhere near good enough to survive. Any other wins we had were were shaky enough to give it away.

So we have a new manager, have failed to offload last season's problem children (bar one) and are playing much of the same system with the same players. Is there any surprise all Championship teams have watched videos of last season and know how to deal with us? Birmingham weren't impressive and three seasons ago we'd have taken them to bits at BDTBL, see also Swansea and we certainly would have had a punch up with West Brom rather than a soft as shit 'take a fall' bout.

My biggest fear was the team was set up to play 1 way only (and even that way not very well based on the prior 12 months) and that Slavs previous way of playing was the complete opposite.

I had hoped we could morph some of our more speedy central attacking players into the wider positions of a front three and add some genuine attacking skill via some loans, whilst revamping the central midfield to rebuild our side around.

I was hoping I was going to be very wrong.

That was my optimistic guess.

Not at all surprised with our start to the season. Waiting while July for Slav to arrive, little or no pre season, no new players ready to go. Showed a tiny bit of promise in places v Brum but fell to the usual sucker punch high ball to the left of our defence, and no clue what to do in the final 3rd ourselves. Swansea turned out to be a bit of an horror show the saving grace was they were as bad as we were. Up against WBA Slav decides to let the players play what they are used to and got rewarded with one of the worst team performances in decades. Yes Slav that is what this shower have become used to putting in minimal effort and happy to accept a drubbing with no come back.
Well the crowds are back now so another showing like that and I can see the lot going up I really hope some arse has been soundly kicked up at Shirecliffe some of the team who started at WBA need dropping even if it means throwing a few young un's in. Standards in the last game were totally unacceptable.

Havent got the players with ability or confidence to beat a man and play out from the back. I keep saying Berge does not suit the style of what is needed and together with Norwoood is playing into blind alleys, backwards sideways backwards then hoof out of frustration. That arises because the midfield was crap last 2 seasons and remains crap and therfore no creativity and no service to the front. Slave can play 6 strikers and none will get the ball unless a lucky punt.

But biggest surprise are the fudged tactics as i was expecting a crude Fulham or Watford at this stage but its Wilders team playing Adkins tactics.
For me i would play Zac Brunt and 3 or 4 other U 23s as at least they will give it a go. RND at back and now Davis plus Bash and Egan.
New keeper, couple of bought creative midfielders in this window and a couple of loan wingers. Play Sharpe and McGold off bench, sell Berge and Burke.

I said one point from 3 games. Got the game wrong. Said we'd draw with Brum.

Before that horror show on Wednesday I thought we'd win tomorrow. Now? Who knows.

I had us down for one point from the first three. I don't profess to be a footballing knowledge base but this side has been in freefall for over a year and hasn't hit the bottom yet. I had us down for midtable this season but this seems a little optimistic at the moment.
