Just a reminder that we'll be live on Sky on Wednesday. A win will see us definitely promoted. If Luton / Boro draw we can then seal it mathematically with a draw. But in that scenario we're effectively up anyway due to GD.

Worth noting that it's a big night in the PL too with Man City v Arsenal topping the bill. Pubs outside Sheff showing our game will be in short supply.

Also worth noting that if Sky hadn't switched the Boro / Luton fixture to the Monday, we could have been effectively promoted five minutes into the game at Wembley.

Possibly. Or Dutch. Certainly one of the three options.

There is a Dutch Blades group who attend games a few times a season from what I understand. I also sat behind them once on the BLUT. Can't remember who we played but maybe Forest..? Peak Wilder anyway and in winter. The snow storm was so bad that we couldn't see the pitch at one point. Half of them were sat there in shirts, which made me giggle. It didn't take long for them to retreat into the concourse, for a beverage I expect.

Hope we do win.

Imagine we do it by getting two draws.

How underwhelming would that be? 🤣
It'd be in keeping with most of the last two thirds of the season to be brutally honest. Although personally I'd take losing all 4 and limping over the line thanks to results elsewhere. Final league table is all that matters at this point.

“Jules” on Sky Soccer Special was spaffing all over Carrick last night, he obviously can’t read the table, twattish Stelling wannabee.

Must be shit being Jules. Knowing you'll always be number 2 for all your life. Like the supply teacher of Sky Sports.

I've probably got this massively wrong, but I was under the impression that Jules was a Blade.

Edit: I am, he's an Everton fan. No idea why I've had that in my head for so many years.

dutchblade - but he seemingly hasn't been around here since 2011

David Garrido is a pig, though.

Just a guess here but they might be thinking Boro can grab it through GD, think most people probably can see, out of two highly unlikely scenario, that Boro win out and grab an unimaginable promotion based on gd, whereas it’s harder to see Luton overturning that gd, then it just comes down to who you believe most likely goes up out of the two

but I’m just guessing at what they are thinking
I think you’re being far too kind!

Right now, Luton have more points! Surely a team that has more points has a stronger claim to end up with more points, with only 4 games left.

Even given they play each other soon, as Luton will be the team at home.

🤦‍♂️

Gold old Beeb with their finger in the pulse:

"Middlesbrough fight back from a goal down to keep their very slim Championship automatic promotion hopes alive with victory over Hull City."

"...Luton side who saw their faint automatic promotion hopes all but ended but confirmed a play-off spot."

I mean...c'mon. They're having a laugh right? Who would read that and conclude Luton are the ones ahead of Boro on points?
I watched Leyton Orient celebrating promotion the other night DURING their defeat at Gillingham. I wouldn't be underwhelmed personally. How many people on here celebrated promotion when Hull couldn't put three past Burnley?

With a point difference then I still think you can view Boro as favourites out of the two but I take your point

I guess ii might be viewed similarly to current Arsenal v City where Arsenal, even with a visit to city, points wise should be seen as favourites but you can understand why a large part of neutrals still seem to think City will do it

We were in the club shop last week spending our club cash. There were about 8 Germans at the check out, all buying a home shirt and having their names printed on. One of them started a conversation by explaining where he was from and mentioned John Fleck. Then proudly said his name was Fleck too. I recon the group of them have taken in our last 2 home games and going to Wembly. Great way to spend your holiday watching the Blades.
Probably the same guys I saw. The guy in the seat in front of mine had 'Fleck' on his shirt.
