Fucking man up and get behind your team when they need it ,you were all there when it was easy at Notts C and Rochdale etc ,what great Blades we were then. Some of the comments make me puke ,we need to be together now and get behind the lads ,they are going to need it. We dont deserve 3rd we have enough points and goals to go up in almost any previous season ,a freak set of events have conspired against us and the players and management dont deserve to be turned on now when they need us. Danny isnt previous managers so the play off hoodoo is bollocks ,we are better than the other 3 ,lets get up with those wankers and show some pride.

,a freak set of events have conspired against us

what's freakish about the shockingly poor team selection and first half performance against Stevenage. Still in our hands a weekend back but guess what we blew it, haven't I had this feeling before ? All those poor suckers shelling out their time , money and well being to go to Exeter only for the Blades to do what they always do - Fuck their undeserving supporters. Time to do something else - Fuck this shit.

Well to be fair, it was pretty unlikely the blue bastards would screw up today was it? So once we were in the passenger seat spending money to go to Exeter on the pretence it was going to be a promotion party was a tad optimistic.

It's a shame that the team doesn't give anything back to the fans. Where was the team / players when the fans need them the most? - dropping points against Oldham, Walsall and Tranmere and letting the pigs have promotion. You must have your tinted glasses on as NW had 4 PO wins before coming to united

Agree with the sentiment Sitters and whilst we're all doom and gloom on here , the team will get the support but the reality is whilst it's 1 defeat in 12, it's no win in 3. Our best XI over the season is better than the others in the play-offs but we're not going in with that best XI, or showing signs of the dominating form we've shown for most of the season.

Not about play-off hoodoos this time.

We aren't the best team in the play offs, I don't think we will beat Stevenage over 2 legs.

what should we do then, withdraw from the competition and gve stevenage a bye to the final?

I didnt say that.

I'm always fairly positive on here and often wear my rose tinted specs but for once I cant see us doing anything in the play offs and I'm looking forward to next season, battering the league and getting highest points total ever.

Not one win though since a guy who couldn't keep his knob under control got banged up, and with the shit we have left up front little likelyhood of a win in the play off's. We could go the Bkackwell route of one up front and hope for penalties I suppose.

I really think we've got more chance of winning the playoffs now than getting in the top two of this division next year.

Assuming McCabe doesn't have a splurge that is...

If Creswell was fully fit, and we had another striker then yes, my rose tinted specs would be back on. But the lack of strike force we have at the moment does not give us much chance, unless Danny plays more of a Cressy up front on his own in a 433 formation and going very attacking I really can not see us getting anywhere.
We simply don't have a plan B.

We do have a plan B. Trouble is we need a C now. :(

Head over heart, are you confident Pup ?
I never said I was confident.. but the season isnt over - it was more of an uphill struggle today to overturn their lead. this is back in our hands. im well up for kepingthe faith and having the post mortem when its no longr possible for us to go up

No we don't have a plan B, plan A was get the ball to Evans, plan B hasn't materialised yet.

Don't get me wrong, I'm hurt like everyone is and I really really really hope for once we get a bit of luck in the final 3 games to get us back in the Championship, an own goal, a not crossed the line, offside, whatever just something to get us there. But Luck and United don't usually come together. If any set of fans deserve some luck its us.

It is not the lack of a strikeforce that is a problem...it is the fact we cannot keep a clean sheet. (2 in 16 I think). We have to score two to ha\ve a chance. Missing Ched is not the issue,Messrs Simmo Hill,Taylor,Lowton and Maguire are

Still down in Exeter at the mo and spent a small fortune following my team. I will do so till the end of time.
So yes I'm up for it. and as Sitters said GET BEHIND THE TEAM. I hope our support find their voice for the next two games.
DW gave us some pride back and its up to us to take that on board again and support him when we need to give it.

Yep, we should be playing Stevenage off the park. We need to shake our worrying recent habit of conceding the first goal (is that four games in a row now?) but we should be able to take them.

At the beginning of the season, if anybody could have guaranteed us 90 points, and a striker scoring 29 League Goals, I'd have grabbed it with BOTH hands.

What has happened, has happened, and we cannot fix it, but we CAN look forward, both to the Play-offs and next season, whichever League we are in.

In Danny Wilson, we've the best Manager that we've had for a while.

We'd probably still finish third...

Scuse me but I thought plan B was the one that blew up in our faces when BT got sent off? More direct into BT , feeding off his flick ons and knock downs aka against Stevenage when he came on. We're definitely needing a plan C, and a D when we cock C up.

We don't need any luck. We are a good enough team to get through without it.

It's an old cliche but luck tends to even itself out. Having said that, what if Marie Antionette hadn't scored in the 97th minute against Carlisle, what if both Stevenage goals not been deflected in ? It's a thin line but events do seem to have gone against us in the last couple of weeks not least of all what happened in Rhyl.

Fans are going to be down after seemingly looking promoted a month or so ago, to lose it to Pigs will make it even worse...even so would we have taken this at start of season? Yes, what Wilson and the Club have achieved this season has been great. We are 3 games from Promotion, it's the playoffs which we don't do well in, but that has to change eventually. Plus if the worst happens and we're still here next season, then so what. We will know what it takes to win in this division, the teams coming down are really buggered and just as likely to fall through as go back up. All this talk of Wilson going is non sense, for once we have been playing good football and getting results from it. Remember how long it took Leeds, Norwich, Southampton, Charlton, Piggies ect...to get out of this division.

I agree that there have been quite a few things that seem to have gone against us in the last two or three weeks, but I also think the team is good enough (even without Evans, Hoskins and Beattie) to get promoted in spite of those things. They just need to have belief in themselves.

Evans is a big loss, but we have now played a total of 14 league and cup games where he has not either started or come on as a substitute. We have only failed to score in one of those games and that was the one immediately after the court verdict. And we have only lost two of those games. Again, one of them was the match against MK Dons 24 hours after the verdict, and the other was away at Everton in the league cup. We won 7 (8 if you count the penalty shootout versus Hartlepool) and drew the rest. Only one of the 14 games included the loan signings of Phillips and Clarke - the away match at Preston.
