So whats everyone thinking on this one then?

If we are sticking with the 4-3-3 and if Lowry is back to fitness then I'd like to see this side.

Simmo

Parrino Lowton Lowry Mattock

Riise Monty Quinn

Evans Hendo Boggy

Subs: Mcallister Collins Cresswell Maguire Harriet Long Yeates

It's a young defense but its also one thats a fairly quicker than recent ones, Parrino didn't look too bad and I never understood him being dropped, his positioning was starting to get better and he looks comfortable going forward too.

Question for me is whether Evans-Hendo-Boggy will work in a 3. It worked ok with Vokes but i'm not sure that Hendo is mobile enough for it to work well enough. The ball didn't stick up front on Monday. Was that because of how good QPR were at the back or were we just poor? Evans/ Boggy got robbed too easily and Hendo didn't win enough in the air, or if he did he wasn't able to find a Blades shirt.

So I'd prefer us to go 4-4-2.

Simmo

Parrino-Lowton-Lowry-Mattock

Riise-Monty-Doyle-Quinn

Evans-Hendo

Bench:
Boggy/ Collins/ McAllister/ Bent/ Yeates/ Maguire/ Aksulu

I think most of the youngsters will be rested.

If it's 4-4-2 then I'd go with pretty much the same team but i'd have McAllister in rather than Doyle, Doyle and Monty are too similar and for me it doesn't work. McAllister by all accounts of what the Irish lads said can be quite creative, this effectively gives us five players that can get up and attack Broughs defence. Plus I just want to see something different.

Fair enough Beech, I'm a little more cautious as I'd rather have Doyle who is a little more of a known quantity in this division, plus I think we can see more from him. Although McAllister could get a run out later on in the game if we need to change things.

Another game where we simply have to go for it. Survival looks a lost cause now but we simply have to play to win. I would line-up as follows:-

Simonsen
Lowton, Ertl, Lowry, Mattock
Riise, Montgomery, Doyle, Quinn
Evans, Henderson

Long, Maguire, Jordan, McAllister, Yeates, Bogdanovic, Slew

That of course will not be our line-up and I'm sure Nosworthy, Collins and Bent will have some involvement. I've not put Parrino in because I've no idea where he's gone?!

He played in the reserves win at Forest on the 16th of March, along with Calve and the two Norwegian lads and McAllister.

This would be my team too. And SC is right, we simply have to go for it.

This game is very winnable. Boro are piss poor and we are at home. (I might get slated for this - but has the fat lady actualy sung?) Palace have two difficult away games and we have 2 winnable home games. By Tuesday at 10pm we could be one point behind them. Perhaps I am dreaming and need to take off my Red ad White specs, but I find it difficult to write us off when there are still 7 to play (5 of which are at home). A win on Saturday and suddenly we are right back in it and we take confidence into a home game against shaky Cardiff. I would still be amazed if we pulled something out of the bag, but it is still possible (though highly unlikely).

I think we will win on Saturday. 2 nil win to United.

I thought Ertl was out for the rest of the season.

Ertl is out for the season and Evans has a dodgy knee that is causing some concern.

I liked the formation v Leeds scum. I do like 'the bear' Riise too and would like him playing so am torn between the four or three in midfield. Reckon if Evans is out it'll be two up top.

My tip is for Squinny to bag one. I think we'll win by the odd goal. I'd love it if Bent could bag a last minute winner. He'd probably pop with excitement or amazement with the shock of the return of the feeling.

Come on Blades it's still game on

Unleash the, 'Bent' on Boro!
He'll run em ragged!

I would not let Nos pull on a Blades shirt again - we need to look to the future. High earner who won't be with us next season and was an absolute laughing stock against QPR. Why not try one or two of the successful youth lads? Or Parrino? Or Kozluk? Christ, even my dear old Nan would fair better.

I'd include Collins in this as well as he is definately on a par in Nos-ville but unfortunately he has signed permanently so we will have to put up with him.

I tend to agree. On second thoughts I would be tempted to line-up as follows (considering all hope of staying up has almost gone):-

Simonsen
Lowton, Maguire, Lowry, Mattock
Riise, Montgomery, Harriott, Quinn
Henderson, Slew

Perhaps even throw Parrino somewhere into that back four if you like. The above team would give a few youngsters experience in prep for next season and might provide us with some entertainment. Why not? Lets face it.....the whole situation is so far out of our hands we might as well try our luck.

By the looks of it, team is:

Simmo,
Nosworthy, Lowry, Collins, Lowton
Riise, Doyle, Quinn, Mattock
Boggy, Hendo (captain!)

Subs include the Norwegian left back Tonne

With collins and Nosworthy in the line up, i can't see beyond a defeat for us.

Poor header by Collins, hit back into the area where he was resultantly out of position, Bates free to sidefoot it into the corner. Their first chance too... We need a performance like the Forest game.

Free header from Hendo after the restart, badly wide of target...

I think when we are mathematically down, Adams may choose to leave (or be pushed). I notice Dave Penney had a similar record to Adams at Bristol Rovers before his sacking, and they have picked up thereafter. The worst two players in a long time (Doyle and Collins) are his only contributions thus far. Really desperate times. Need to start thinking about next season if we lose today as the season will be over.
