Kick-off: 15:00

Am looking forward to this, for some reason. Cue abject failure usually. But he definitely gets them up for t cup doesn't he? Amazing .

Waiting for train down now, should be a good game, hope diego starts/scores

What formation are we playing today? From the line-up it looks like it could be a false 9?

Can't tell, people to my right think its a terrace, will let you know when we kick off and attack a half i can see

I must admit, my patience is running thin. Wonder what the average goal per shots is for us at the minute. My guess would be 1 in 10. Don't think I'd be too far off. Put the ball in the back of the fooking net!

Just got back from crewe - thought the football (up to the 18 yard box) was excellent.

Murphy started up top and it switched to JCR.

Crewe are useless - the BBC possession is absolute bollocks - we closed down and gave them no space. All of their possession was in their own half. Worst team (by a mile) that we have played this season.

Now the bad bit - absolute crap in the 18 yard box.

yes we need a striker on the pitch which was the song going round from the fans.................absolutely spot on.

I agree about Crewe, they're really poor. It's very rare I watch United and it doesn't occur to me that the opposition will score and that's what it felt like again on Saturday, it's hard to see them surviving this season. Or maybe we're better than I think we are.

I agree also that we played some neat passing, quick moving football without any end product. We must have pinged at least four crosses straight across the six yard box (Murphy and Flynn) without once getting anyone on the end of them, which is very frustrating.

I don't want to come over all Sitters, but Baxter was poor again, his first touch was inadequate, he lacks effort and his miss with only the keeper to beat was dismal. JCR wasn't much better, a few tricky runs but no end product.

I was really impressed with Louis Reed, he's very calm under pressure and seems to have time on the ball to make an intelligent pass. He's very lsight and does get knocked off the ball, but he'll carry on growing for about four years.

For me, the man of the match was the Crewe stadium announcer, who made a complete pig's ear of every announcement, starting with an overdetailed explanation of how the minute's silence would work. As he rambled on, the entire crowd was already silent in anticipation. He ended the game telling customers ("sorry, supporters") about the next train to Sheffield which was in fact going to Manchester via Stockport. It petered out a bit then and I have visions of Blades wandering around Manchester Piccadilly, not sure what to do next.

He did explain that he was only a stand in, as the regular announcer was sunning himself in Tenerife, though he didn't tell us which hotel. He also needs to practice introducing Stefan Scougall, who just for the day, became Scowgall.

yes of all the players, Baxter was a bit off today - trouble is, as bergen said, he was swapped around a bit -seems to be the Clough way is to move players and change formation during a game - top management if you ask me, but i didn't suit Baxter. I reckon if Scoogs had started we would have won as he anticipates balls into the box like a forward.

Yes, Louis Reed WILL play for England - for someone so good at just 17, and if he keeps his mind on the job and not girls in hotels (sorry, but it IS an issue with stupid footballers) and he doesn't think that a Ferrari is his next car then the lad can go all the way. I hope SUFC at least see a few good years before one of the big boys tempt him away (and Harry Maguire...... that doesn't shitty Hull City FFS!)

As for the announcer - at least he tried..........poor man!

and last but not least - Mr Basham............excellent again - Bergen gave him 8 - and for all the "early" doubters/knockers on here - he's a good footballer at this level - just give him a break. He could well be our Bob Booker Mark 2.

Replay tonight - let's focus on the football today, getting behind the lads in red and white and, if you are lucky enough to be going(wish I was), giving the 11 going out there 110% support, raise the blooming roof - cannot be easy for them with all the sh*t going down. We ARE United.

"I would love it, just love it" if we banged in a few goals.. :o

Enjoy the match Blades, don't get too cold. 2 matches away from potentially a great tie.

I'm not going until we resign Ched,it's not fair. How come we haven't signed him yet,iv'e got the right face on now.Just leave me in peace until Ched comes back,i want my Mum!!:D

Doesn't look as though tonight's game is going to be too well attended - there's still loads of seats available round the front of the South Stand.

We get so many email reminders as ST holders advertising the fact we can buy home match tickets but none reminding us to get cup tickets.

Not moving from my seat at the back tonight, will be freezing with the wind! Hopefully no extra time and pens!

Understand what your saying but if we're 1-0 down with a couple of minutes left i'll settle for extra time.

Big game for us. I don't want to appear too confident, but if we get through we've got to be strong favourites against Plymouth at home. Get through that and we're in the third round, with a possible tie against PL opposition. Hull at home would be nice.

Yeah, I remembered to get mine yesterday and got my own seat on the kop.

Wasn't difficult, "they're here, they're there, they're almost everywhere empty seats, empty seats"

That's a bit daft isn't it? Trying to sell you a ticket you already have and not trying to sell you one that you might not have.

I'm not a ST holder and I had an e-mail just now, at 16.26 telling me about tonight's game and prices.

One for the next SLO meeting perhaps?

Would tonight's game be on TV in a foreign land by any chance???
