my MOM was spring. Thought it was a good game as a whole with many good performances but noone shone out for me as much as spring. Thought made intelligent play, brought the ball down well and made some challenges and applied a good amount of pressure.

Thought it was a very good performance from him. Well done that man

Well the penalty was a good old fashioned shoulder charge from my angle. And I thought Stokes took a tumble for the free kick.

Good old fashioned shoulder barge in his chest when he's knocked the ball past him.

He would take a tumble when you have been caught late

And I thought Stokes took a tumble for the free kick.

He pushed the ball past the defender and the defender had committed to the tackle and got him. Wouldn't have complained in the slightest had it been on the other foot :)

can't be arsed BT, but for me he can be can't be arsed all he likes if he scores 2 goals a game !

Blackwell says.....

"We are hoping Beattie's goals will be the difference in getting us promoted, and that's why that club has gambled in that department," manager Kevin Blackwell said.

"We're fortunate to have him. He's a great team player, he's a great lad in the dressing room, the players love him to bits and the staff love working with him and long may that continue."

Decent win.

Could of had more goals if we wanted.

Maybe the 4-3-3 is slowly starting to work.

A good team performance today we look to be playing better football with each game, the only slight concern is the lack of goals from open play. When it all clicks into place we'll murder some teams in this league.

Whilst not wanting to put a dampener on matters, we should remember that this was a piss poor side, and has been mentioned, probably the worst to visit the Hallowed Ground so far this season.

Granted, there may have been a few flagging limbs after grinding out a win over the pork, but nevertheless they were dreadful.

You can only beat what's in front of you though, and that was done with some aplomb by the Blades today. Frustration summed up the first half for me. Partly because I was late/sober, partly because I still wasn't in the rudest of health, and partly because of the idiots who were singing songs about Monty which I'm sure he'd love to hear when on the field. I'm sure they're just as constructive when he's not even there.

Well done you people.

Mostly of course though, by our inability to score. Beattie looked to be getting the mards on at certain points towards the end of the half, occasionally stopping dead in his tracks after winning the ball as if he'd looked Medusa in the eye.

Glad to hear no booing at half time at all (it had been creeping in for a bit in previous matches).

Webber was particularly good today I thought, especially as he seemed to be able to drift inside more than in previous matches. Maybe that was because we had the opposition sussed out (and that they were crap), and that we stopped lumping balls up to their centre backs in the second half.

I don't think anyone had a bad day at the office (which is always nice to say), but Sunny Jim oozed class and composure for me.

Once again though, I have to note the clown in the black. At least he was dreadful overall, and terrible for both sides.

One particular incident was when Morgs effectively picked up their number 9, manhandled him into a seated postion, before planting him on the ground within our own penalty arc. Apparently this is legal.

The full complement of kids were with me today (youngest HH bugging the hell out of sufclucy at times though), and both younger ones joined in with, er, some songs :D.

Speaking of which I'm really glad that youngest HH didn't hear the attempts to get "The Wheels On The Bus Go Round And Round" going (yes brownie, I'm looking at you :D). I have enough of that every day :D.

All in all though, that were awreight, that were!

Who else loved Sun Jihai's challenge? :D :D :D It was bloody brilliant!

On the subject of the officials, I think the ref was consistent. He didn't blow for the foul on Quinn so he didn't give anything for the exact same challenge by Ugo.

Goals get you promotion from this league so James Beattie is worth £60M pounds if he shoots us up. Another win & another great game built from the back that enabled us to go on & win the match comfortably.

keep it up lads!

Second half by the corner? Wonderful!

I liked Sunny Jim's perfectly timed 'Jackie Chan' challenge too, where he took the ball and nothing else at midriff height to the complete bewilderment of the Chalfont St Giles midfielder :D

Sun Jihai was really good again! But are people just voting him MOTM because of that Ninja Tackle?:D

In the first half I thought Stokes was absolutely terrible but in the first 15minutes before he was taken off in the 2nd half I thought he looked quite dangerous and clapped him just for that 15minutes:D

I have to say it's a toss up between Spring and Webber for MOTM for me.

Webber's control is getting better and better, along with his distribution. Even the balls into the box that didn't quite get to one of our players were dangerous.

And Spring was brill again. Very rarely gives the ball away and is calm on the ball.

HH, Plymouth aren't such a bad side! They weren't on good form yesterday after the penalty but prior to that they were ok - certainly not the worst team to come to BL. They were only a point behind us before yesterday.

It's always nice to see a few different players getting the nod for the MOTM vote :)

I didn't vote for Sunny Jim because of one reckless tackle.
I voted for hi because he looked very composed, won tackles that would have passed others (Naysmith) by, and often chose to play the ball out of defence rather than just hoofing it aimlessly into the ether.
The Jackie Chan/Kung-Fu Panda tackle was (in my humble journalistic opinion;)) a perfect opportunity for a red card.

With a different referee perhaps, but that bloke on Saturday was never going to give anything. If the penalty and freekick we scored from hadn't have been so clear cut, we wouldn't have had them awarded.

The ref on Saturday was really trying to get through the game with no cards.

Just going to point out that.

Out of the last 15 meeting at home v Plymouth we have won 13, drawn 1 and lost 1.

Only one United squad has been beaten by Plymouth at home since 1952/53.

No prizes for guessing who was in charge of that squad.
