Exactly one year to the day since we beat Ipswich 2-0 at the Lane to virtually seal promotion back to the Premier League.

One of my favourite days following the Blades for many reasons. Great memories. Time flies.

When watching the re-run make sure you take in the minute or so of crowd noise after the JackO goal. The commentator stays nothing so all you can hear is the United fans.

I've heard United fans louder than that but this was a different type of loud. There were songs coming from all sides of the ground. Normally it's just one chant everyone joins in with but each stand was singing their own song so loudly they couldn't hear anyone else's. The TV mics did a great job of picking it all up.

I remember so clearly at the time just listening to it and looking around the ground, trying to take it all in. I'd never heard the ground quite like that before and I don't know when we'll hear something similar again.

5:15 ko???

Its only a year ago but I'd have sworn blind it was a lunchtime KO - funny what the memory does to you.

5:15 but it was decent weather so it might have seemed earlier.

JOC's goal is one of the memries that will live with me forever. That and the fat bloke in the Gary Madine shirt who jumped out of the John Street at FT, ran onto the pitch and then jumped back into the crowd!

This sums up my memories perfectly .

I was in the BLUT and the constant wall of uncoordinated singing coming from all sides of the ground created an unforgettable atmosphere.

Probably the greatest game I have ever been at. For many reasons.....

The ups & downs of the season
The style of play
The previous 9 days when we went from 'out of it' to 'on the brink'
The atmosphere throughout the week & on the day
The jangling nerves all week after Monday, willing Saturday to come
The emotion that was tangible in everyone in the ground
The 'settler' from Hogan
But the knowledge that 1 mistake & it could end up level
Numerous chances missed
And then, that goal from JOC, I still feel the emotion when watching it! Hugging anyone & everyone around, the relief that we have a cushion
The final whistle, knowing that but for utter madness we had done it

In fact after just watching it I failed to recognise that we were on top that much, it must have been the nerves of the day!

For all these reasons its the greatest game for me. In the same season that I also saw the best performance for decades at home against AV. Utterly fabulous for 60 odd minutes, 10-15 minutes slightly subdued, & then 10+ minutes on top again! A superb performance all over the park.

MTLBWY

Keep safe UTB

I remember seeing JOC talking to Knill prior to the goal and he arrived so late as a result that no one picked him up at all.

Was that a deliberate ploy or was he just taking a bit of instruction?

Has that question ever been asked?

Under CWAK, United have tried so many different options at free kicks and corners that I wouldn't put it past them to have planned it

I think it was planned, under the guise of having one of those energy sachets.

Saw this to and said it straight away to the old man. Had to be a ploy, it was to obvious. Was calling for a drink on the run over to.

Previous weekend and we beat Forest, walking to the pub and listening to Wigan beating L###s. Good night we had.
Sat in a corner away from any radio, phone, TV on Easter Monday. I could not listen to the Hull game, we were so near what could possibly go wrong?
My son found me eventually.
"Want to know the score?"
"NOOOOOH!!!"
"Winning 2 - 0. 3 -0 now Enda.
Ipswich was a case of how many, felt like a 100 ton weight off the whole club when JOC scored. We're going up.

Just watched it back on youtube. I had forgotten how much we were on top for the whole game! No way were we losing that game! You could see it in the players. Watching it back, you can fully understand why this team went on the run after christmas and nailed promotion!
