I’m sorry but that’s b*******. Yes we might not have the money of West Brom, Stoke; Boro etc but we certainly have more money than a lot of teams in this division. Notably, Millwall and Preston have much lower budgets than us. Brentford are only spending because they sell key players every year. All of the newly promoted sides have less money than us as do Ipswich, Bolton and QPR with their new restrictions. We have a midtable budget we aren’t in the dire financial position that some on here make out.

We do have money to spend - unfortunately we can't break the 15/20k max for a player wage structure.

Which basically means we're shopping for unprovens, or league 1.

20k a week is still a lot more than most though. Millwall pay something like 7k on average.

But we use it to run the club cause the owners won't.

I agree, but they've bought from the lower leagues. We're trying to buy a player for 6/7m and are expecting him to take 15k when others will offer him 30k+
Yeah that’s true. I’m actually happy we didn’t go for Waghorn. Not worth the fee whatsoever.

Were don't have the money to become regular challengers at the top.

We have the money to compete with the teams you mentioned at the end of your post, yes.

We will probably compete with those teams towards the bottom of the league.

Striker position is exactly the issue.
Not good enough movement or ball retention. No pace.
Midfield without Coutts has been average. Evans and Lundstram were dog awful last night.
The set up with Fleck wide is a nonsense, and I’m disappointed Wilder hasn’t realised that your best player has to be on the ball, not stuck out wide.
The crosses and delivery of both Stevens and Baldock has been abysmal. Either just kicked anywhere, overhit, or hit at the wrong times.

That team last night looked like they had just met for the first time yesterday.

Whilst I agree with the delivery being woeful, I'd wager most players, no matter at what level they play at, just try and put it into the danger area. Then it's up to the strikers to be a bit pro-active, make a move, be determined to get on the end of it.

Unless the ball is bang on Clarke's head, he has no intention of trying to win a ball. Thus making the deliveries look poorer than they may actually have been.

...let’s see how much we’ve spent come Friday.

P.S- Could be a ‘Coady-esq’ type budget . ;)
