Wilder's old man used to run my local and the Liverpool side would sometimes come over to cover. Used to knock around with his cousin Scouse Col a lot back then. Good people.

As an aside I was reading an article in The Athletic this week which said CW's dad Phil is from Merseyside and moved to Sheffield when he was 17 and that Chris visited an aunt and uncle in Norris Green, Liverpool I think before the Everton match last week.

The worst i ever Heard was at a Derby shortly after Alan Hodgkinson`s Mother had died , which went to the Grocer Jack tune ...Hodgkinson Hodgkinson is it true what Harris said your Mothers dead wo oo wo o . Which is to a individual player , far worse than any chants targetting a group that was when both sets of fans stood side by side on the old East Bank , i think it ended 0v0 , but even as a kid i felt really bad for Hodgy that Day and could not grasp why .

I know political correctness gone mad and all that but maybe it's not the worst thing if our culture reaches the point that this is no longer considered all that funny.

Whilst we all have opinions & clubs we favour or dislike. When people die in the sort of circumstances discussed here it is never appropriate to belittle the event or chant about their deaths. These are human beings, with families who have felt the genuine distress of not seeing their loved ones returning from a sporting event, to make light of this is appalling & utterly reprehensible.

But also, there is a Hillsborough to sadden our eyes, and the year isn't really 1889 ;)
It's describing what was once a Utopian world but then it came to be, bearing in mind if it isn't premiership it doesn't happen, except the year is 2019.

Worked with a few pigs obviously over the years, remember when they got hammered at kieserslauten ?

Workmate told me they started singing a daft song that they stole off them, this included holding your arms out like an aeroplane.. however one night at old Trafford they decide to do this aeroplane song running along the stand with their arms outstretched, when they got outside there were a good few hundred waiting and they got the shit kicked out of em, he said he thought they were gonna kill them, blokes of all ages went crackers thinking it was a reference to Munich, utd penned them in at the exits prevented them leaving and set about anybody trying to walk out of the ground, pretty much all of them ended up going back inside to keep safe and wait for the police to come..

The funny football chants have replaced the nasty ones on the whole, the “league one champions” yesterday was brilliant, it’s good when it’s funny isn’t it.

The whole of football should leave distasteful chants about tragedy’s where they belong, in the past..
Absolutely. i always think all that bollocks makes us look like Leeds or Stoke fans

I'll respectfully decline your kind offer tbh. As often, I posted that last night, after a LOT of beer. Apologies for any offence caused.
Yes, it does offend me as I was there that day..

Appreciate your honesty and decency to reply

Apology accepted mate 😘
