For years and years before Hillsborough the scousers sang about Munich 1958 to man ure,and nothing got done, reported was in the media eye...but soon as Hillsborough...all they want is sympathy and justice...what goes around comes around...horrible set of cunts!!
I think you just file this under two wrongs don't make a right.

Those players in Munich had families too.

Added to this the world was deprived of what could have been an all conquering once in a generation team. Sad we didn't get to look back on Duncan Edwards and co starting for their clubs and countries.

I'm not going to single out Liverpool fans in the same way, but for years after Hillsborough, most clubs, including Sheffield United would still sing about Munich. This was going on way into the 90's and i think it only became outrageous around 5-10 years ago.

I've can't recall anyone singing about Hillsborough though.

We also sing about Jack Charlton being dead, when he isn't... which is just weird

All football clubs are the same

Worked with a few pigs obviously over the years, remember when they got hammered at kieserslauten ?

Workmate told me they started singing a daft song that they stole off them, this included holding your arms out like an aeroplane.. however one night at old Trafford they decide to do this aeroplane song running along the stand with their arms outstretched, when they got outside there were a good few hundred waiting and they got the shit kicked out of em, he said he thought they were gonna kill them, blokes of all ages went crackers thinking it was a reference to Munich, utd penned them in at the exits prevented them leaving and set about anybody trying to walk out of the ground, pretty much all of them ended up going back inside to keep safe and wait for the police to come..

The funny football chants have replaced the nasty ones on the whole, the “league one champions” yesterday was brilliant, it’s good when it’s funny isn’t it.

The whole of football should leave distasteful chants about tragedy’s where they belong, in the past..

Two wrongs make a right eh?

Do you know if those singing about Munich were the ones who lost loved ones?

Didn’t we get some abuse in the nationals for when Busby died, wasn’t there some Saturday were they were going to have a minutes silence all over the country and we happened to play the pigs that day and sang through it

Or have I made that up ???

I wasn't there but my recollection was that there was some confusion culminating in a 'United' chant, rather than us deliberately chanting through it like Leeds fans did at Blackburn. Would have been January 1994.

All I'm saying is..before Hillsborough scousers and whoever other teams thought it was fair game to chant about munich to man ure but mostly the scousers because of their rivalry,so as I say they must accept some back....surely?

TBF are most of them saying different ?? Not to knock the women’s game this could be a case of individual complaints at that specific game rather than the prem league fixture were it’s frowned on but most probably say the same as you

Yeh that’s mine, thought it wasn’t a Munich song but more quite a few unitedites not realising the exact time etc

Just vaguely remember getting panned in the Sunday papers as one of several clubs who shamed the game

Lots of things changed after Hillsborough.
People change, and events highlight what needs to change.

That isn’t true. The same song, word for word, could be heard briefly, and clearly, coming from the back of the Kop.
Sorry - I didn't hear that from the other end of the ground and in any case, didn't think that chant was about Hillsborough.
Scousers have been accused of playing the victim for a long time, and the song doesn't mention Hillsborough specifically.

True it doesn’t specifically mention Hillsborough, but it is exactly the same song as reported from the Man Utd ladies game.

Old Trafford in FA Cup they were getting dragged out of their cars after game and hammered

As an aside I was reading an article in The Athletic this week which said CW's dad Phil is from Merseyside and moved to Sheffield when he was 17 and that Chris visited an aunt and uncle in Norris Green, Liverpool I think before the Everton match last week.

On the Kop...heard a brief rendition of "always the victims, it's never your fault."

Wish it had been louder to be honest.
I can get you a ticket on their Kop for the game on New Year’s Day, I know a few Liverpool fans, they’ll show you a great time on the piss over there.

So I’ll get you a ticket, if you promise to stand up when the Kop is quiet and sing that, you know, really loud, to make sure as many people hear you 👍

I'll respectfully decline your kind offer tbh. As often, I posted that last night, after a LOT of beer. Apologies for any offence caused.

I've been to a Man Utd - Liverpool game many years ago (before Hillsboro). We all enjoy a rivalry/banter as I've had with the Pigs for over 5 decades
However the types of chants from both sets of fans at that game was IMO 'over the top'
Whilst Liverpool were singing Munich songs Man U fans were singing songs about Bill Shankly lying dead on his back after his heart attack.
I'm glad that we've never sank to that level in Sheffield.

Think singing about Chris Wilders daughter (barely out of childhood) is just as bad and distasteful.
