Of course, I would call you a dickhead to your face, so I throw down the challenge to continue this conversation man to man, and in a civilised manner, over a drink or two this weekend as I will be up for the Coventry game.

As you won't be at the game I will be in Sheffield on the Saturday if the hitch goes to plan, so we will meet then. Deal? And no, I'm not calling your bluff. And for the record, I am a peace-loving hippy who has no inclination towards violence whatsoever.

So I'd love to take you up on your offer, but do I really want to be meeting someone that thinks I'm a first rate dickhead? On those terms, and other than for the violence you say you're against, I really couldn't predict your reasoning for such a thing.

I'd go with the bit about me being a peace-loving hippy. God knows, you irritate me no end, and currently I do think you are a first-rate dickhead, and it would seem you think the same about me. But I have found that the only way to determine that someone isn't a knob or an idiot or a dickhead is to meet with them. I prefer to meet things head-on and take things on the chinend (that's in a metaphorical way, of course).

If we both go away thinking, "Yep, I was right, he's a prize bell-end," then at least we will go away with mutual respect for grasping the nettle.

If I'm honest with you, I am tired of the negative vibes and I accept that I am responsible for some of them. And if it's reassurance you are after, there's quite a few folk on here who know who I am and I'm sure they will back me up when I say that I am indeed that peace loving old hippy without a violent bone in my body.

It just so happens my opinions are largely negative, because the club and the manager generally carry things out in a way I wouldn't, and it's that way that is going to continue our decline. What are perceived now as negative cunts, are going to be looked back on as some sort of clairvoyants in the future. Again though, that's only my opinion.

I have no feeling of resentment towards anyone here, and you might paint yourself out to be a peace-loving hippy as you put it, but when you take to personal abuse because of a difference in football opinion, it's hardly something you can say with any sort of confidence.

For the record, I have no intention of beating anyone up, or getting beaten up myself, and I'm as peaceful as you seem to be, but it must be hard not to react, whether you'd actually do it or not is easy to say behind a computer, when you're being called a first rate dickhead to your face - as you say you would.

Okay, I'm not saying that you ARE a first-rate dickhead, just that I think you are, and there is a difference. However I might have put it before that's what I'm saying now. I've met and being perfectly civil with someone who called me a cretin after my comments upon the death of Maggie Thatcher, and have thrashed out many a disagreement at work by heading straight into the boss's office and talking it through face to face. It's how I deal with things, and the last fight I was involved in was with my sister when I was about nine.

I don't have a problem with your opinion or anybody having an opinion at all on anything. I might not agree with said opinions, but that's because everyone has one. I just don't like your repetitiveness, your style of debating, and lack of variation or contributions on other matters.
