I’d probably cash in during January and buy a few more players so I would.

Blaster was asked to sit deeper tonight due to Vini being suspended. I didn’t think he was bad at all considering, and seems strange to call him out before others
The midfield was the problem again no mobility and so easy to break our lines
He and Peck have both struggled against better opponents

Classic example of football.

Big a young lad up beyond what he's achieved so far, then wade in when he's not reached said potential by age 20.

Load of rubbish, he’s quality on off the ball
Take the bladey bladeness glasses off
Now let’s look at this objectively he’s young he’s a talent but he’s struggling against better young players certainly the last 2 games on and off the ball

Agree to disagree on this, he’s not been to blame for any of the goals we’ve conceded and I’ve not seen him do much wrong

Whilst not our biggest concern - that is our recent tactics and our forward line - Arblaster is getting out run in MF, Leeds and Boro have exposed his inexperience. His positioning is dire at times and little give and go’s are turning him time and time again. Whilst he might look good on the ball, the other 50% of being a midfielder is lacking and we’re getting cut through.

Our MF across the board to be fair has been rubbish last two games and it’s becoming a concern.

Arblaster is the captain so is not immune to criticism.

Last night, Peck and Arblaster seem to always be within 5-10 yards of each other. I don't know if this was their instruction but they played so many short, sideways and backwards passes between themselves, most of which in areas where Boro were comfortable.

Peck rarely looked to create decent angle to collect a pass from the back four, so was easily covered off. It also meant Souttar and Anel were forced to play too many sideways passes to each other because they rarely had an option to break the lines. Boro were happy to sit off and let them do it.

For all Oli Norwood's deficiencies, he always made himself available and looked to progress the ball forwards. I don't see a similar player in our squad at the minute.

i dont think this 4231 system is working now especially against better teams i think we need to get back to 3 in midfield in a 433 set up arblaster souza and hamer when hes back in that midfield 3 and think a front 3 of rak-saki brewster and brooks

Tanganga is a pretty solid championship defender .

He is not Virgil van Dijk granted , neither is he the second coming of Nyron Nosworthy .
He can be but also hit and miss, personally for me he isn’t a leader but with a solid DF cover and a high press it definitely helps. It also helps that Wrexham didn’t exactly give him anything to do.

What makes you think he isn't a leader ?
It is a criticism but he doesn’t have that confidence/even to go as far as “intimidation factor”, when you look over the captains this century, the likes of Rob Page, Chris Morgan, Billy Sharp and John Egan, there wouldn’t be many clubs that would want to play against them to start with then each can motivate a group. I think if we had another CB that wasn’t young he would be captain

Your logic suggests you need to be intimidating to be a leader .
Im not sure that follows 🤔

My original bump on the thread was just a reaction to comments in various threads that he's crap , slow , a bombscare , needs selling etc.

I just dont see that to be the case , i know many do , but thats why its in the unpopular thread , hardly a surprise that people disagree 😀

He's settling down with, checks notes a more settled spine in front of him (Peck, Phillips) and a decent, experienced partner next to him (Kitching), as many of us have said.

It's almost like he can't do it all on his own and having a shit, disorganised side around him made him look worse 🤷🏼‍♂️

Although probably some corporate sorts on here, there are all types of leaders but ones that stand out on a football pitch are finger pointers and the loud twats. I know that is going more “dinosaur” methods now especially as not leading by example. I agree though he has been harshly picked on and scapegoated a few times but our CB pairings haven’t been settled for a while
