Whilst not our biggest concern - that is our recent tactics and our forward line - Arblaster is getting out run in MF, Leeds and Boro have exposed his inexperience. His positioning is dire at times and little give and go’s are turning him time and time again. Whilst he might look good on the ball, the other 50% of being a midfielder is lacking and we’re getting cut through.

Our MF across the board to be fair has been rubbish last two games and it’s becoming a concern.

Arblaster is the captain so is not immune to criticism.

Agreed, he's had a poor few games but he needs Vini next to him. He did some decent covering but putting a boot in is not his forte. He's still young and learning though. Needs time and I really don't think making him captain was wise. Peck also needs time to grow into men's football. If Vini gets injured we're reliant on them. We need to bring in another tackling midfielder in January.

What the future England captain arblaster? You must be crazy 🤣

Tom Davies is not far away now, apparently. If he can stay fit he will make a difference. That’s a big if, but we can hope.

cant play arblaster and peck together again peck was awful tonight souza back in saturday go 442 with brewster and campbell up top and brooks and rak-saki wide then let em interchange

We needed to bring in another experienced midfielder before the season started

He needs a pops and bangs remap. And maybe a sports exhaust.

Blaster was asked to sit deeper tonight due to Vini being suspended. I didn’t think he was bad at all considering, and seems strange to call him out before others

Watch the goal back again. Arblaster doesn’t do his job. It’s just simple closing down - it doesn’t need any skill. For a captain, getting the basics right is an absolute minimum.

I really like him, and he’ll go far - but only if he gets the simple stuff right first.

It was a mixed bag from the lad, some good and bad. There’s probably 3/4 players who were worse than him tonight though.

His backing off of the cross for the Boro goal wasn't a great piece of midfield work.

A damning indictment on our summer transfer shortcomings that Tom Davies staying fit and Brewster coming good are pretty much a necessity.

We made some good signings but we left ourselves stupidly short in some areas of the squad.

Our central midfielders would benefit from the team having more pace up front.

I also think our defenders were dropping rather deep at times, probably scared of pacey forwards running in behind them. This gave the midfielders a lot of space to cover. I would focus on other aspects of our game, other weak areas of the team.

I don't think being captain helps Arblaster. He looks like he is under pressure and not enjoying it on the pitch. I wouldn't drop him, but as others said not Peck and Arblaster. They were overrun. And give the armband to Souttar or Vini.

I look forward to him getting injured in the first FA Cup game and being ruled out for the season

Thought Blaster was decent tonight after being our worst player against Leeds. Peck was our worst tonight. We wanted to blood our talented young players and we are - this is the price you pay.

Away from home against top teams they're not going to put in top performances all the time.

Is he fully fit ? we seemingly rushed him back from his injury when he must have missed quite a lot of training. He then comes back in and plays 90 mins game after game in a very taxing position.
He's definitely not playing like he was and may need a rest.

A steady old head in midfield needs to be brought in, I'm not talking a player with top flight experience, I'm talking someone with a bit of an old head who knows the game. Put 3 in midfield and that old head in midfield alongside our young 'uns will bring them on and provide the steel in the middle that's needed.

We already don't score a lot, we are trying to shore up the defence and don't concede a lot - so what do we have to lose? Give the young lads the experience, just give them one old head to play alongside.

Now, question is - who?

Someone’s got to tell Wilder you win games by attacking and scoring goals not by being joll nice chaps passing it around in our half, United remind me of the 1933 Arsenal team….

Agree with this. There’s nothing on the break or a quick outball. Boro just pushed a lot of men forward knowing there was no one up top to get in behind quickly.
