A mere youngster myself , the Mighty Flynn for me !!In these trying times I often find myself singing:
"Come all without, come all within,
You ain't seen nuthin like the Mighty Carlin"

What a great little player. About 5'4" with the heart of a lion and ability to match. IIRC he made the equaliser for Mick Hill against our porcine neighbours and can remember him and a young TC running the show against Man U at Old Trafford, even though we lost 1-0. Absolute disgrace we sold him to Cloughie at Derby. Rumours of corruption by Arthur Rowley???In these trying times I often find myself singing:

After Mick Hill scored I remember Carlin running to embrace a woman in the stand. I was on the kop as there was always Blades on there back in the day. At Man U I seem to remember Woody missing a load of chances, could have had a hat trickwas at both those games 5k blades massed on the east bank fanthams 100th goal for wendy and willie carlin's mazy run for mick hills equaliser at leppings lane and your right we should have won at old trafford in april denis law's jacknife header at the scoreboard end did us
Whether it was true, or just false rumours, the story I was told was that the fee was £63k, £60k to United and £3k to RowleyI think I remember hearing that Rowley didn't rate him and that he reckoned he had "got one over" on Clough.
I beg your pardon......................
