What a great little player. About 5'4" with the heart of a lion and ability to match. IIRC he made the equaliser for Mick Hill against our porcine neighbours and can remember him and a young TC running the show against Man U at Old Trafford, even though we lost 1-0. Absolute disgrace we sold him to Cloughie at Derby. Rumours of corruption by Arthur Rowley???

I think I remember hearing that Rowley didn't rate him and that he reckoned he had "got one over" on Clough.

After Mick Hill scored I remember Carlin running to embrace a woman in the stand. I was on the kop as there was always Blades on there back in the day. At Man U I seem to remember Woody missing a load of chances, could have had a hat trick . Those were the days .
