I don't get your point. I was quite surprised at how expensive the Owls prices were.Remember they had a boycott and disenchanted fan base so far less renewals at a discount. I thought they were encouraging season tickets by offering brilliant prices. I have no problem with us charging more than them we are after all in a higher division and despite our complaints have much better facilities. Of course football is too expensive but as an over 60 renewing on the kop and able to pay in three interest free instalments using pay pal it is still a decent price. Football is becoming more and more a sport for the middle class and football tourists wether we like it or not. I wonder if the regulator when not to busy getting Wednesday promoted might not try to influence ticket prices. Good luck with that.
My message was for jt64 because of a comment he made to an earlier post of mine.

Those are extremely reasonable prices for what you would be getting. Yeah you don't get the renewal discount (duh), but christ, that is not a piss take price
It's a difficult one isn't it.

I agree with you in that it's not a take the piss price, but if these are the prices for new season ticket holders then there's a reason they're not existing season ticket holders who are renewing.

It's a lot of money to shell out up-front for a product where you don't know what you're going to get (meaning it's sport, so it could be a great season and entertaining or dull as dishwater).

I'm out of touch being out of the country, but hopefully they offer fans the opportunity to make a smaller commitment with some discount, say bundles of 5 games at a reduced price.

If Wilder had been a manager he’d have come back……Wilder likes his personality in and around the club.

The problem was Selles was manager at the time and he didn’t fancy McBurnie.

The thing that gets me is…..McBurnie was constantly picking up niggly injuries when playing for us
He goes to Hull City and seems to be injury free.
Maybe a cultural barrier that prevented Selles understanding the value of someone like Mcboozie in and around the club. The Spanish/Portuguese managers do seem to be very serious people.

United have been in a position for a while now where there has been a scarcity of available quality season ticket seats for some time. Until this year I don't think we've even been selling them past the renewal stage since we had the first Wilder season in the Prem (maybe a few small windows). I think that gives the club a level of power on non renewal prices as they're confident they'll sell to someone. Your reward is the renewal price next season, a quality seat (if you got in early) and not paying matchday prices. If the BLUT was available for season tickets fans would have a bit more power, imo, as it'd open up more ST.

We used to laugh at the pigs and Chansiri levels of ticket pricing, but we are not that far behind them now on the price of tickets, in fact just had a look and a new ST at the sty is cheaper than at the Lane £600 for their best seats and only £440 for the kop 😲
There in the "Pub League" they make up the money with the Scratch cards at half time and then paying their Subs in the away pub after.

The Spanish are more serious, only until they've had a rioja or two, then they're running down the street waggling their chorizo at everybody?!

Worth remembering that hilarious nicknames like "McBoozie" are based on lazy assumptions and, probably, McBurnie's behaviour when he was younger and have absolutely no basis in the reality of recent years.

Any idea how many sold altogether?
Sales are looking good ,slightly down on last year at the moment but remember we was north of 23k last year
Would indicate about 16500. Will check Kop next week.

Opposite North Stand.
You will find 7.5k gone in south 6.k John street over 1k Westfield 300 kop corner about 7 k kop do the maths

Agree for most part

First went to BDTBL in Sept 1970, my baptism was followed by 5/6 wonderful years when football and football kits were awesome - the anticipation of going to the match was palpable , Fridays were no sleep nights .

What followed were years and years of downs with the magical unforgettable interludes of the wonderful Dave Bassett , the rascal Neil Warnock and our own Chrissy Wilder .

My kids had season tickets but found other stuff to do - the group of us who went home and away went from ten to two to now just me as my best mate passed away last December, ironically on the way home from the Lane .

I have had a ST since 1975 and have renewed again for next season whilst seriously considering not to .

I have 4 wonderful grandchildren wirh another on the way ,decided to buy a holiday bolt hole on the east coast and now work when I want , or don’t want .

Yes, we were the lucky generation, but we also had to make our own luck .

Anyway

UTBs

(Typed whilst lying on a beach in Algarve - always enjoy reading this forum - great fun and some side splitting laughs )
In much the same situation without the grandkids.

I live in Morley, my son lives in Hull, and we see each other at the games.

I'm getting older and less mobile so away games are definitely a problem because my knees won't work if I've been stood for two hours.

We've renewed as always but if we saw more of each other elsewhere we probably wouldn't have.

Did it the simple way. Counted remaining seats and deducted them from each stands capacity. Easy.

Cheers Ollie, nice to speak to you, and good luck in the Prem.
